If you spend a lot of time seated in the saddle, then you need a saddle that can support you comfortably without causing pain, discomfort, or the dreaded numbness. The Selle SMP TRK is a men's saddle that's designed for those who spend a lot of time on the trainer or trekking. The distinctive Selle SMP design gives the saddle a curved distinctive curve, drop nose and air channel to support your sit bones, keep blood flowing and support your body in an anatomically correct way. This allows your body weight to be distributed evenly to alleviate pressure on the pernieal region.

I'm 73 years old and I ride 6000 miles a year. The softer parts of my anatomy have grown more sensitive as I age and the stiff, light weight saddles that come with the higher end bikes don't accommodate the older body. The slit in the Selle SMP TRK Mans Saddle is wide enough and long enough to mid agate pressure; the sit bones are on materials that are soft enough to allow for long rides yet stiff enough for peddling support; and the down curve of the saddle's nose allows easy egress and mount of the bike. I would recommend this saddle to anyone who loves long rides w/o the worry of saddle discomfort.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I build custom bikes and this is the most popular seat of the many I trial on people. The design is very unique and everyone notices how different it is from anything else. Many women prefer the men's version too over the ladies version as the ladies is too wide for some. It is critical to get the angle right to optimize the "cradle" effect you need to balance the pressures on you so play with that before you give up. Myself, I only use this saddle for road and mountain biking and works great for both. Like any saddle, it isn't right for everyone but so many people that have tried this saddle are in ecstasy the minute they try it and then never a problem on long rides.
