The folks here at Nashbar are pretty much all cycling junkies. When we put out a Nashbar bike, we know how to build it so it suits its purpose perfectly. Take the Nashbar TR1 Touring bike for example. It has an ultra comfortable and durable chromoly frame and steel fork combo that we stacked high with lightweight alloy components such as bars, seatpost, stem, and Alex DC-19 alloy wheels which are not only light, but can handle the challenges of open-road touring without losing their trueness.
We also made sure the TR1 had an awesome FSA Mega Exo triple crankset powering a Shimano Tiagra/Deore drivetrain. This ensures split-second, smooth, and precise shifting, and all kinds of versatility for long climbs, rolling terrain, or on-the-fly acceleration. TR1 also comes equipped with Kenda 700c x 32 tires--these extra few millimeters of width add to the comfort for long rides. We also threw in an alloy rear rack that is pannier ready--all you need is a map and a dream...this bike has everything else covered for comfortable, worry-free touring.
