Comments about Vredestein Black Panther CX Cyclocross Tire:
Let me get all the bad stuff out of the way. First, don't use these tubeless. I did for a season and they consistently let me down. The fit too loose on the rim and the bead doesn't really want to hook on very well to my Stan's Iron Cross wheelset. Second, even though the knobs do a decent job of shedding mud, just don't do it. When it gets really muddy, these things are mud velcro. After a minute or so, they'll weigh a ton and you'll slide all over the place. Great, though, if you want to rooster tail the crowd....
Other than those two things, these are fantastic. The sidewalls are extremely supple and roll very nicely over pretty much anything. You can add a few pounds to the tire without sacrificing traction. Tread life is also pretty good. One whole season and there are no noticeable signs of wear or abuse. And I abused them. These are pretty ideal all-rounders. Great on wet grass and loose corners. Decently fast on hardpack. They'll cut through patches of mud with ease.
