Comments about Nashbar Alpe D'Huez Pedals:

I replaced my SPD pedals with these and I wish I would have bought these sooner. Very easy to clip and unclip without slipping a pedal. My rides require a lot of stops so ease of clip in/out is a must.

Comments about Nashbar Alpe D'Huez Pedals:

As all other reviewers remarked, these are indeed extremely lightweight compared higher-priced pedals, and seem to be LOOK KEO clones.
So, I made the mistake to buy 2 pairs. I decided to post a review after a few hundred miles, though...
As it turned out, this was a good idea. In short, they won't last you one way (cleats) or another (pedals).

    Cleats:
As another reviewer mentioned (see NB LOOK cleat reviews), KEO/LOOK cleats are not compatible, and NB does not offer any replacement cleats. So, you must buy new pedals once the rather soft cleats are worn out. And you cannot change the float if your knees require this.

    Lousy bearings/axle quality:
Pair #1 has seen 1000ish miles of no rain, and both pedals have about 1-1.5 mm play within the axles. Annoying click sounds when pedaling harder, too.

Pair #2 has seen 600ish miles, and the right pedal's ball bearings are crunchy. The left pedal seems to be the only one of 3 that is not defective yet.

Both pairs will go back for sure. I strongly recommend to stay away from these pedals despite the many great (early) reviews.

Luckily, NB has a much appreciated life-time warranty!

Comments about Nashbar Alpe D'Huez Pedals:

I wanted to switch from toe-clip pedals and give the clipless world a try . I chose these pedals because they got great reviews and I have a lot of faith in Nashbar products . I only have a couple of rides on them , but like them a lot ; it was easy to get used to clipping-in , and I do feel they are helping me be more efficient .All you need to install them is a 8mm wrench and they are very light and seem well constructed !

Even the box is classy. First impressions matter and these pedals knock it out of the park.

Super smooth. Excellent finish, like look.

Very, very lightweight. Surprisingly so. Not a weight weenie, but these are lighter than my old Sampson Sr clipless pedals. Also just as smooth.

Only thing left to see is durability, but on the magnetic trainer, these ride just fine, so time on the road will tell.

Comments about Nashbar Alpe D'Huez Pedals:

I was initially going to switch over to shimano pedals but found these and figured I would try them out. These are by far the best pedals for the price! I already had LOOK keo pedals so being compatible was another reason for the purchase. They are super lightweight and work really well. I had to buy a second pair for my dad. My only concern would be that out of the box the retention on them is really tight but they can be adjusted, one full turn to loosen them up and they are perfect! I will definitely be buying more in the future.

Comments about Nashbar Alpe D'Huez Pedals:

I've been using these pedals for less than a month, so I can't comment on durability, but they are working just fine. I switched to these from Shimano because the Shimano replacement cleats are so expensive and I ride a lot, which means that replacing cleats can get expensive. Replacement cleats for these are less than half the price and work just as well.
