Continental City Ride II Tire
City streets can be hard on tires, but the smooth-rolling Continental City Ride II Tire is designed to take it. It features a new profile with a larger contact area for better grip on asphalt. Continental's exclusive PunctureProTection system shields it from penetration by glass and other sharp road debris, so you can keep on rolling no matter what. A reflective stripe on the sidewall enhances your safety by making you more visible after dark.
  • Large contact area for great traction on pavement

Comments about Continental City Ride II Tire:

I was looking for a wide, durable tire for my grocery getter and this was a good choice. If you're used to 700C road bike tires this is going to seem super heavy. But for a a city bike, these look pretty indestructible. Good tires at a good price.

Comments about Continental City Ride II Tire:

I have only ridden on these tires for a couple of weeks and 75 miles on streets and asphalt/concrete bike trails. So far I am very happy with them. The 26x1.75 tires ride smooth without vibration or tire noise, grip well, absorb bumps well at 60 PSI and hold air a long time.

The tire tread does kick up more road sand and water than a narrower completely smooth racing tire, but much less than a semi-knoppy mountain bike tire. Likewise these tires are slower (more friction) than a narrow high pressure racing tire but have less friction and vibration than a mountain bike tire. They are very comparable to the tires they replaced, another name brand of city tires that the tread was getting hard and worn thin. I'm 225 pounds. So far the molding tips and centerline molding flash have not worn off either tire yet. They look like they will hold up well, but at only 75 miles I really can't say how long the treat will last yet.

I installed these tires with new Nashbar tubes in December, then hung the bike in the garage for the winter. When I took out the bike in March I was pleasantly surprised to find the tires were still near full rated pressure and were still ready to ride after three months in storage. I did replace the plastic valve stem caps with metal caps with rubber seals to cut down on air leakage past the valves.

26x1.75 tires measure 48mm or 1.88 inches wide mounted on my comfort bike rims.

Touring+e-bike hghly recommended-for back tire, used a ligkter Kevlar on front! Old touring trick: buy months early..and let harden a bit; even more resiliant!
