Comments about Nashbar Tempo Double Wireless Cycling Computer:

I bought this computer for the cadence (which works great). I also like the calorie counter. I run strava on my phone and it says I burn 600 calories because it thinks I'm riding a road bike. The cycling computer knows I'm riding a 29er MTN bike and says I burned 1100 calories, which I think is a little more accurate.

Can't really complain. It's inexpensive on sale and does the job. I can't see it lasting long but if you want to ensure you're at a desired speed and cadence, it will serve you well.

Comments about Nashbar Tempo Double Wireless Cycling Computer:

I bought this as I have a Cateye double wireless that could accidentally be reset when paging through functions. I think the Tempo came out of the same Tawainese factory as did the Cateye as the trasmitters are similar. Internet research suggest there is a connection. I like having a third filled to see my cadence, mph and time or calories burned all in one page. As accurate as the Cateye. But the contrast could be better. It appears that older LCD technology was used. Best part is that Nashbar honored a price match when after buying the computer I saw on line that Ian additional 15% was taken off. As such, I got a great deal for the computer

Straight forward by the book installation. Only problem was with the cadence magnet; I had to add some double stick tape to keep it in place. I am pleased with all the features at its price. Its accuracy is remarkable over a ten mile ride as checked against my cell GPS. I am a happy camper.

If you do not need a GPS, then this is about the best value of any cycling computer in the market. Installation and programming are simple. The wireless connection is faultless over a span of 42in. on my triathlon bike. The large display is easy to read. And it provides all of the information you want.

Comments about Nashbar Tempo Double Wireless Cycling Computer:

I originally received this included with a used bike. Then that nice used bike fell over in the bed of my pickup (poor clamping), breaking the computer which was mounted on the end of the handlebar.
The replacement computer I then bought from Nashbar arrived with a new, factory-matched transmitter, of course. But the computer had no trouble syncing with my old transmitter. That impressed me, along with the use of 2.4GHz connection, which should avoid any interference problems. (I had interference problems with the wireless computer I used on my old bike.)
This one is easy to read, includes more functions than I will ever use, and is now mounted (more sensibly) on the stem.

Comments about Nashbar Tempo Double Wireless Cycling Computer:

Overall a decent computer but hard to read unless it's tilted at the right angle, display completely disappears in bright sun unless tilt is perfect and readability changes with body position much more than any other computer I own (11 bikes). Those who ride in essentially the same position all the time may not notice.
No autostart, silly to leave that out.
Finding the desired function while riding is typical, just push buttons and hope. Someone needs to make a computer with controls you can operate without thinking or taping instructions to your handlebars.
Cadence and speed displays react too slowly.
The single sending unit on the chainstay is very nice but has little tolerance to spacing variations from the speed and cadence units on the wheel spoke and crank. Wouldn't matter too much except it's very difficult to get the sender to stay in place, it slowly rotates out of position and can be hit by the cadence crank if not readjusted periodically. My chainstay is not round or oval like the mount (weird shape like all carbon frames) and I had to fabricate a mount to keep the sender stable.
But the computer does work and is OK for the price. The display contrast issue IMO overshadows the other idiosyncrasies; if you can't read it quickly, the rest is moot.

Comments about Nashbar Tempo Double Wireless Cycling Computer:

Good bike computer for the money. I ordered this to go with the Nashbar bike trainer I ordered at the same time. It had the features I was looking for (especially cadence)for a very reasonable price. After using it twice, it operates as promised.

One complaint that lowered it from a 5 to a 4; very poor documentation made for a stressful installation. I eventually figured things out, but proper documentation would have made it MUCH easier!
