Good value for purchase price, questions about quality

Comments about Selle Italia SL Kit Carbonio Flow SE Saddle:

I appreciate the look, and the specs. I have the same saddle but from a different year and different finish that this replaced that I loved.
    This one is slightly different:
-more 'tacky' material that tends to 'stick' to fabric. more friction, sometimes snags.
-something not solid about it. After riding, lifting up on the seat, there is movement; not from the connection between seat rails and seat post clamp though, that's plenty tight. the connection between the rails and the saddle itself seems loose. That's my biggest complaint after approx 100 miles. Not a killer, but raises questions about how long it may last or how much worse that looseness may become.

Comments about Selle Italia SL Kit Carbonio Flow SE Saddle:

Had the Selle Italia Gel flow saddle which was much not expensive and loved it. Alas it was stolen along with the bike! New bike and now the Kit Carbonio. Very little difference in comfort. Selle Italia knows how to make a saddle. This one is flexible so i think the comfort stems from that. Padding is good. Shape is similar to the Gel Flow. Great saddle for the price.

Comments about Selle Italia SL Kit Carbonio Flow SE Saddle:

I haven't had this seat long enough to speak to its durability. But I just used it on a century ride and it was fine. I started getting a bit antsy on the seat around 85 miles, but everything was antsy. I didn't have any numbness or actual pain spots at the conclusion. Got it because they no longer make the selle italia model I have on my other bike but this seemed closest. To a certain extent a seat like this may not suit a casual rider that hasn't gotten used to a lot of riding and the issues of having a "too soft" saddle that you roll around on. But for someone looking for a solid seat with reasonable padding, I think this fits the bill.

Comments about Selle Italia SL Kit Carbonio Flow SE Saddle:

          Comfortable Saddle

I'm 6'1 and 175 to 180 lbs and most of my rides are 35 to 100 miles an outing. This is the 2nd Stelle Italia saddle I have used on my road bike. Both were great and comfortable for about 5k miles or 1 year. Then they need replacing. First was a gel model and it just started sagging in the center at the cutout. Replaced it with a lighter earlier Fi'zi;k Ardea Manganese. It was to narrow and hard and I went back to Selle Italia saddles. This Selle Italia SL started creaking after 9 months and 5000 miles. To keep the saddle quite, I lube the seat rails to the saddle with a Teflon wet lube, every 2 weeks or when I lube the chain.
I really like the SL. it is comfortable and relieved numbness. The saddle has held up very well and is in great shape except for the creaking so I can only give it 4 stars.

Shopping for a new saddle but may get the same one, hoping it will last longer and only if it is on sale.

Getting close to 60 and need a little more comfort. This seat has it and is light. Just did 42 miles and no numbness yet. I am 6,1" and 160. Seat might be a little wide for some. Great price.

Selle Italia saddles seem to fit my body much more than other brands, and are much more comfortable. I have used this saddle for 60 mile rides and never think about it, which is a good thing. Easy to slide forward and back as desired, no pressure points.

I've been riding for 28 years, but never had a saddle designed for anatomical comfort. My first ride with this saddle was an 18 mile leisurely ride, and the saddle proved to be exactly what I was looking for - nice comfort.

Comments about Selle Italia SL Kit Carbonio Flow SE Saddle:

The saddle looks nice and lightweight, but it just didn't fit me. No matter how many adjustments I made, I always felt like I was sitting on a skinny metal beam. I think the measurements are wrong as it didn't feel like a 145mm wide saddle. I really liked the look of the saddle but I had to return it.

Comments about Selle Italia SL Kit Carbonio Flow SE Saddle:

I bought this seat to replace a Ritchie Brither's comp seat that I've had since I bought my carbon motobecane five years ago. Why I didn't replace it five years ago I'll never know. This is my first high end seat and it is a night and day difference between my old seat. I've only put 100 miles on the new saddle but have mug much less soreness after rides. I've done two 25-30 mile rides and didn't really notice it which was great. I'm doing a 50 this weekend but assume it will be great. I'm 6'4" and weigh 230lbs (athletic build) and it holds up just fine. The looks are great and I have had much less pressure on prostrate area which is great!!! For the Nashbar price for this saddle it is a no-brainer in my opinion.
