If subzero temps are keeping you trainer-bound, you need a lifelike cycling experience to get you through the winter. Nashbar's Fluid Pro Trainer gives you all the simplicity and convenience of the regular fluid trainer, but with a remote cable and dial adjuster that allows you to choose the resistance and emulate climbing and spinning environments. Our new fluid resistance unit uses an internal flywheel system guaranteeing smooth, quiet, and consistent delivery of a lifelike pedal stroke. Plus, easy setup and teardown makes it ideal for everything from warmups to workouts.

I ordered the Nashbar Fluid Pro Trainer to ensure I could ride through the winter. The trainer appears well-made and was easy to set-up. Riding with the variable resistance level set to "1" allows me to adequately and effectively control resistance by changing gears. However, when the resistance level is increased beyond "1" I've noticed the resistance ebbs and flows while under a relatively constant load. This suggests either a design flaw or manufacturing defect. I am experimenting with different tire pressures and the level of contact tension between the trainer's roller and the bike's tire, but have yet to find the right combination that eliminates the inconsistent resistance when the level is set above "1". All that said, the trainer works well enough for my needs as a beginner.
Unfortunately, I have been unable to experience this trainer as I can't get the yellow locking mechanism to work properly. I have asked for assistance from Nashbar and submitted pictures of my issue and have yet to hear back from anyone in more than a week. Not at all satisfied with the customer service this time around.
