I use these tires on my commuter bike. I get very good value out of them. I commute about 30 miles a week, and these tires typically last several years.

These replaced some really old hybrid tires on a bike I've had for years. I do most biking on asphalt so these were perfect. They've held up great so far and were very affordable.

I have used these tires on several mountainbikes I have converted to street / road use. They roll well and wear fine. Have them currently on my MTB converted to a drop bar touring rig and my drop bar MTB street runner. For the money, they are a good buy. Better when on sale!!

Comments about Nashbar Streetwise City Tire:

I use these(26x1.5)on my 1990's mtn bike. I ride anywhere from 15 to 40 miles(a session) on the street, 3 to 4 times a week.

I like that they are smooth, quiet and have low rolling resitance. When I want to go off road, the wider profile makes it easy to navigate on medium/hard dirt packed trails while retaining good stability.

What I don't like is the constant flats. It seems like the material is too soft/thin to protect against thorns, glass, etc. I've flatted 3 times in 6 rides, all from street riding. My previous tires, the Nashbar Slick City 1.25's, never had this much trouble.

        Won't be buying again.

        Have had flats

        By Steve Holt

        from Boston MA

        About Me Commuter

Comments about Nashbar Streetwise City Tire:

I ride to work 3 to 4 times a week - about a 6 miles ride each way through city streets and bike paths. I bought these tires last November, and have had three flats whereas the previous tires I used I didn't have any for five years. The price is right but if you plan to commute everyday through city streets you may want to spend a little more.

Comments about Nashbar Streetwise City Tire:

Most mountain bikes never see any offroad use and knobbies make them very unpleasant and perhaps a bit dangerous to ride on pavement. These light slick tires strike a nice balance suppleness and durability. The lack of treads aside from siping grooves allows for a nice contact patch w/ the road and safe confident cornering. You can extend the usefulness of any MTB by switching out the knobbies for a set of these. They're wide enough to provide comgort as well as speed. And the price can not be beat. I don't do serious offroad but i've ridden these on dirt trails and gracel w/ confidence.

installed these on a tandem 300 + lbs (riders 150 + 118 + bike 35+) We have 700+ miles and no issues. Not showing wear that I need to replace but replacing because the price is so low it isn't worth pushing it.
