Much different than my mountain tires. They feel more balloon-like. I like them so far. I plan to just ride paved roads and trails.

Comments about Nashbar Streetwise Kevlar Belt City Tire:

I ride on average 30-50 miles a week, exclusively on paved trails here in Florida. I changed my MTB wheels and tires over to a pair of these in late may of 2015. Here we are a year later and my rear tire needs replacing, no tread left and the rubber has worn down in a strange way. The tread is gone in the center and angled edges on the sides like the rubber was poor quality. I would include an image if I could.

Comments about Nashbar Streetwise Kevlar Belt City Tire:

I use these tires on my commute to work which is 34 miles round trip. I also use it for multi days tours on the C&O Canal and on the GAP and on 200k bevets. I've been using these tires way back when Performance first sold them back in 1994 and continue to by them when Nashbar started selling them. In the 20,000 plus miles of using them I had only 4 flats total! And that is not a lie!

The Streetwise tires does have a nice feel and does not feel slow at all. To me this is probably the best 26" tire out there without spending a ridicules amount of money. I have used Continental,Michelin and WTB Slick Flatguard Sport Tires and they all feel slow, heavy and does not provide much flat protection except for the WTB. The only tire that feels a bit better is the Panaracer Pasela but I can buy three of the Streetwise tires for the price of one Pasela PT folding tire.

Great tires, very reliable, I love them!

Comments about Nashbar Streetwise Kevlar Belt City Tire:

Easy tire to mount, needed no tools and took less than 10 minutes to install on each wheel with new tubes... 700x35 tire mounted on my rims at 32mm exactly (per my calipers)... so all the other reviewers that say these tires run narrower than the markings show, are correct.

Excellent size, weight, and toughness for my Trek DS hybrid, and they give the bike a sleek "ride-me-fast" look. I'm 6'4", 230lbs., and these tires support the weight of me + my bike very well (I run them at near the recommended max psi, because of the total weight the tires carry). The slick tread with short, small sipes roll much better than the thick, knobby Bontrager tires that originally came on the DS (which I swear slowed the bike significantly when I coasted down inclines). Plus, the Bontragers were loud and buzzy at speed, while these are smooth and nearly silent.

I ride 70% on suburban, beat up, potholed streets, but also tested these tires on smooth asphalt, grass, gravel, crushed limestone, and I jumped a few curbs too, and the tires performed very well on all these surfaces, with no sense of discomfort or instability. Time will tell re the kevlar belt and flat protection, as well as for durability, but after several hard rides, the tires still look new and are surprisingly unmarked.

I compared literally 3 dozen bike tires before purchasing these --- these are an excellent width for my rims and bike, acceptable weight (each under a pound), and it's fairly easy to spin them up. The price with the discount that Nashbar runs every now and then was unbeatable...I'm very happy with these tires so far, and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

Just purchased these tires and had maybe 30 miles on them, picked up a goat-head, punctured the tube and tire and my ride was over. Got some tuffy liners and filled tubes with slime, will see how this works.
