Garmin Vector Pedal Set Power Meter

Power to the pedals takes on a whole new meaning with the Garmin Vector pedal set power meter. It's truly groundbreaking technology in power assessment and measurement as the sensor lives in the place where the power is generated - at the pedal. The Vector pedals measure not only total output, but individual leg output allowing you to identify any asymmetry in your cadence. Cadence data as well as all power metrics are then sent from the sensors to your Garmin GPS-enabled cycling computer via ANT+ wireless protocol. And above all the Garmin vector system is extremely user-friendly. You can install it yourself in a matter of minutes with no complex drivetrain or wheel tradeoffs plus no external sensors to install.

The Vectors are no slouch pedals as pedals go, either. They are Look Kéo compatible, they are made from lightweight and strong injected carbon with chromoly spindles, and they weigh in at just 426 grams per pair (including sensor pods). So whether you're a pro who needs to measure this kind of data, or are just getting serious about your training, this technology is an unprecedented way to get the skinny.

Comments about Garmin Vector Pedal Set Power Meter:

This entire design and function is cost ineffective. They slow and boggs down the rider and also makes a subordinate to broad world extremism. The are of poor quality standards and cast a dark aurora on the pure cyclist. They also courtships a monoply in cycling that is a burden for longevity. The marketing scheme is also worrisome and a nuisance. Highly not recommended for Godspeed or Lightspeed Cycling.

Comments about Garmin Vector Pedal Set Power Meter:

This product is designed to be used with 510, 810 and 1000 series computers. Many of the options with these pedals only perform with those heads up computers. I have an 800. It would not fit two of my crank sets. Garmin said they were working on pods for different types of cranks. The pedals must be torqued to a certain tightness, which requires a special wrench for changing from bike to bike. When I first put them on they read much lower out put than my Quarq and powertap meters. Tech support advised to download the new update and have the pedals put on with a torque wrench at 25 pps. The clearance between your crank and the chain is also an issue. On my race bike there is not enough clearance to use the pedals. The pedals are light and I though it would be great to be able to switch between all my bikes, but that doesn't look like its going to happen.
These pedals may work for you "Do your home work before you buy" make sure they will fit on your crank, buy a torque wrench and measure the distance from your crank to the chain. Good luck. I still like garmin products and am working through the issues with my bikes and crank sets.
