Comments about Nashbar Grinder Mountain Tire - 26", 27.5", 29":

I changed out six tires on three mountain bikes (belonging to my wife and two kids) with these fairly aggressive tires just before a trip to Moab. The tread pattern and tire appearance are very similar to the tires on my own mountain bike, Maxxis Ardents. The tires held up very well to the abuse that Moab is known for, with many hard hits on slickrock, deep sand, and technical climbs and descents. I am very pleased with these tires, with the caveat that they have only been on for ~ 150 miles. My wife's 29er has tubeless setup, and I was a bit worried that these tires wouldn't work. It was a little hard to get the beads to set, but they stayed put just fine and didn't give any problems. So, I'd say that they are tubeless compatible. Good tires for a great price!

Comments about Nashbar Grinder Mountain Tire - 26", 27.5", 29":

I bought these to replace a worn set of WTB V-Raptors on my #2 bike. The tread depth was less than 2mm new. I only have a few miles on them right now and haven't ridden them in anything loose or wet. I expect them to wear out quickly due to the shallow tread. The good part is they were inexpensive, The traction seems good on dry unpaved but groomed bike paths.

These looked like an aggressive tread design with lots of traction. What the product photo doesn't show is that the tread is less than 2mm deep. The only good about them was the price. They were discounted under $13.

This is one of the best mountain bike tires I have ridden. I use it on my 29er. I was looking for a tire that grips in the mud and roots, as my old tire tended to spin. The Grinder is terrific -- great traction. At least as good as the Raptor, my favorite on my 26" bike. Do not be fooled by the low price -- this is a quality tire.

Good balance between grip and knobs. My previous back tire was sliding on hills but this one gives you paddles so no more slides. Great tire for the crazy low price.

For the price this tire can't be beat. Unless you are really racing I can't see this tire being anything but perfect.

Climbing they work fine and they go on super easy. They just don't hold in corners like my WTB race tires. For the price and intended user, they are perfect. But if you're a broke racer trying to save a dime, stick with brand name tires.

I have these on my SS training bike. I noticed that I would lose pressure while riding.I would start out great but by the end of 20 miles of singletrack I would have squishy tires. I attribute this to a really flexy sidewall.
