Comments about Shimano Ultegra RD-6800 GS 11-Speed Rear Derailleur:

As with everything that Shimano does Ultegra rocks...no need to spend extra $$ on Dura Ace unless you think it makes you faster

Comments about Shimano Ultegra RD-6800 GS 11-Speed Rear Derailleur:

I am older (68) but still like to push the limits. I replace my short cage Dura-Ace RD with this one when I am doing extended climbs over 6% like Mt Evans and Pikes Peak. It really helps me to keep my RPMs up on these longer climbs. This long cage RD is essential for cogs bigger than 28.

Comments about Shimano Ultegra RD-6800 GS 11-Speed Rear Derailleur:

I finally replaced my DuraAce equipped Tommasini after 26 years. My brother gave me a bike with 9 speed Ultegra and a broken rear shifter so I upgraded levers and rear derailleur to Ultegra-6800. It gives faster easier shifts than 1988 Dura Ace by a long shot. Not to mention it handles a 28T cassette with ease. (the old DuraAce was at its capacity at 23 and slow shifting onto that)

Biggest surprise was that I was able to shift to a bigger cog while loaded with my 270 pounds on the pedal groaning up a steep stretch. Wasn't expecting a anything but clatter but it shifted without complaint. Cool.

Highly recommended. DuraAce may be better, but for a recreational rider I can't imagine needing more than the RD-6800 offers.
