Giro Grynd Men's Cycling Shoes
Giro isn't just a leader in great, high performance road shoes; they also make great SPD compatible shoes for mountain bike, fitness, or touring. The Giro Grynd Men's cycling shoe has a super breathable microfiber and mesh upper with a laced closure for great fit. A molded SPD-compatible shank and molded EVA outsole means great comfort on and off the bike--rubber walking zones keep the cleat out of your way so you can wear these anytime--and they're so cool looking, you may want to wear them even when you're not near your bike.
  • Microfiber and mesh upper; Laced closure with lace keeper strap
  • Molded SPD-compatible shank with optimized cleat zone keeps cleat out of your way
  • Molded EVA outsole with rubber walking zones feels like a sport shoe off the bike
  • Molded EVA footbed with medium arch support is versatile and extremely comfy
  • Aegis anti-microbial treatment keeps your dogs fresh even for the long haul
  • 325 grams will not weigh you down riding, hiking, or walking

Comments about Giro Grynd Men's Cycling Shoes:

I mountain bike around twice a week for 2-3 miles each. Occasional 10 mile rides in the nicer weather. I've had these shoes for a year and have had the following problems and will be requesting a refund:
1) Mesh is splitting from upper, poor sewing
2) Sole is wearing out, very succeptible to abrasians
3) sole is far too flexible for effective pedaling
4) the cleat ended up stripping the plastic it was screwed into after about 2 months, and when I went to clip out of my pedals it rotated causing me to be stuck in my pedal and fall. I now make sure to snug them before each ride.
5) The rubber sole started to crack today.

Would not recommend for anything over commuting... I was expecting a shoe that could at least be used for light trails. Will be returning... can't believe giro and nashbar put their name on this.

Comments about Giro Grynd Men's Cycling Shoes:

I bought the orange version of this shoe on sale. The shoe fits fine, and is plenty stiff for recreational riding. I own a pair of rode shoes with Shimano road cleats, and also have a pair of mtn bike shoes with SPD cleats. I bought the Gyro as a recreational/commuting/touring shoe that I can use to walk into stores, etc. I believe they will work well.

Comments about Giro Grynd Men's Cycling Shoes:

I purchased these shoes for casual riding on my road bike equipped with Shimano M324 pedals with emphasis on a walkable/lightweight shoe which these shoes fulfilled, however when used with cleats the shortcomings are readily apparent. The sole does not have enough tread to flip the pedals to engage the cleats, the recess in the sole for the cleat is too short and narrow for a clean engagement, and the sole too flexible to be classed as a road shoe. The black rubber part of the outsole grips very well, but I would never consider using this shoe for mountain biking on technical trails as the EVA is too vulnerable and the uppers too light. The shoe is as comfortable as a walking shoe and has a very open mesh for ventilation. The size 45 fits fine for my normal 11M shoe size and weighed in at 365 grams.

Comments about Giro Grynd Men's Cycling Shoes:

Love 'em. I have middle-aged wide feet, and for years I wore mtn. shoes for my road bike because thats all I could get to fit me. I always walked gingerly before and after the ride on our wood floors because of the hard cleats. With these shoes I can walk around comfortably as long as I feel like with no worries.
There is s very slight loss of power with the smaller plate in the sole, but the comfort does more than make up for it.
        And, they are super lightweight.

Comments about Giro Grynd Men's Cycling Shoes:

The shoe box is wide enough not to pinch my toes, laces and velcro for a tight fit for my B-C width foot. Soles are rubber, good for walking without cleats and have stiffeners which make peddling more comfortable. If you are using tennis shoes, consider these.
