Nashbar Carbon 29er Mountain Frame
While you'd be correct in considering this sculpted, carbon fiber masterpiece worthy of hanging on your wall to admire, the Nashbar Carbon 29" Mountain Frame is most assuredly a trail-conquering rocket ship awaiting a test pilot to fully put it through its paces. The 3k carbon fiber construction is plenty light, plenty stiff and packs a mean aesthetic punch with its stealth black palette. We've dotted all the Is and crossed all the Ts with internal cable routing for front and rear shift cables (the rear extends through the top tube and continue down the right chainstay), the ability to run a full cable housing from lever to caliper for the rear disc brake, plus a massive bottom bracket shell ready to rock a PF30 bottom bracket.

This carbon 29er frame is truly a blank canvas awaiting the build of your dreams. And whether you're inclined to go the gram-shaving cross country route or a stouter enduro option regarding components, Nashbar's truly got you covered in the build it from scratch department. Buy it, build it, and bomb trails to your heart's content.
  • 3K carbon fiber weave construction delivers the ultimate in stiffness and light weight
  • Internal cable routing along top tube (and continuing down chainstay for rear derailleur) for front/rear derailleurs provides super clean aesthetic
  • Rear disc brake bosses set-up to handle full housing from lever to caliper
  • PF30 bottom bracket standard for massive shell keeps weight down and stiffness up
  • Gloss black finish over carbon weave is visually stunning

Comments about Nashbar Carbon 29er Mountain Frame:

Very pleased with this frame. Built it up within 24 hours of getting it with some high end parts and rode it for 20 miles. Ride quality was good not different from my other high end carbon hard tail bike. This is great very good frame for the money . The gloss black look is also really attractive .

I needed a medium frame and found this one for about the price of an aluminum frame. All my old parts fit with the exception of the bottom bracket and crank.

Comments about Nashbar Carbon 29er Mountain Frame:

I've used this mainly on single track, off trail and dirt roads and it handles well. It's Very light even with medium grade xt parts, built it up a 1X10 with 32 tooth front and 11x42 tooth rear. This is my first 29er so not much to compare it to but it rolls over things like creek crossings and rooted areas much nicer than my old 26 inch bikes do. I put some snake skins behind the front wheel to give it added protection, the frame is thinner there and i've had people tell me it's a vonurable spot for Carbon fiber.

Comments about Nashbar Carbon 29er Mountain Frame:

This is my first bike build on carbon frame. The frame looks strong and the finish is nice for the price I paid.

I wish Nashbar will carry Fat Bike frame by the time on my next build.

Awesome frame to build up! 21 pounds fully built...be aware it is a 46mm pf30 bb, 63mm width..will save you the trouble of returning the wrong size. Well worth it and the bike looks and rides awesome.

I decided to return the frame. It just seemed too flimsy. With that said, I did not build it up and other reviews were good for this frame .

Comments about Nashbar Carbon 29er Mountain Frame:

Only the first ride, but I wanted to address 2 issues that I thought would help potential buyers. First, my XL frame was 1280g (about 2.8 lbs). That's very respectable. Handling is very good - neutral and nimble. The BB shell is 68mm wide - many MTBs are 73mm for press fit shells, so choose your drivetrain accordingly. I intended to use a Wheels Mfg. eccentric adapter, but I had to fabricate spacers to make it work with the road width BB shell. That done, it makes for a sweet handling inexpensive sub 20lb. rig. Well done, Nashbar! So far my only gripes are tight tire clearance at the seat stays: about 1/4" on a WTB 2.5" Weirwolf LT.
