Vuelta Corsa Lite Road Wheelset
Looking for a solid upgrade? The Vuelta Corsa Lite Road Wheelset is probably the most versatile set of hoops you'll lay eyes on. Weighing in at a lean and mean 1570 grams for the pair, these alloy road wheels feature a 27mm deep rim, so they're nice and light but still slice through the wind for that all-important aerodynamic advantage. The CNC-machined brake track provides excellent all-weather performance while the hubs spin on Japanese-made EZO cartridge bearings so they get up to speed quickly and roll smoothly. For the ultimate in compatibility this wheelset is 11-speed Shimano/SRAM ready, with an included 8/9/10-speed spacer for older cassettes so the odds are it will seamlessly work with your current drivetrain. Last but not least, there's no robot construction here as these wheels are lovingly built by hand for perfect tension and true.
  • 27mm deep rims are made of extra stiff, lightweight 6066 aluminum alloy
  • CNC-machined brake wall provides responsive, precise braking performance
  • Triple butted aero spokes help the wheel in the aero department, and make a tougher build so they won't go out of true
  • Japanese-made EZO cartridge bearings spin fast and roll smooth
  • Hand built to ensure perfect tension and true
  • Shimano/SRAM 11-speed compatible (w/ spacer for 8/9/10-speed cassettes)
  • 1570g (pair)

Comments about Vuelta Corsa Lite Road Wheelset:

I checked "avid cyclist," not because of years of experience, but because, since July, I have been riding regularly. I have a Cannondale CAAD 8 Claris and weigh roughly 200 pounds at 6'. I bought these wheels as a step up from the Maddux R3.0 that came on the bike. They are lighter, for sure. I took them out on a ride today of about 18 miles as a test and used a route I have used several times. The most noticeable thing is a smoother ride over rough pavement. Also, while I suppose there could be other factors, I finished the route with an increase in average speed of .5mph. Not sure if that's attributable to the wheels.

I'll keep running them in and edit this if required.

Comments about Vuelta Corsa Lite Road Wheelset:

I was surprised at the quality of these rims at this price point. All components are high quality, and the hubs roll forever! I confirmed the weight pair at 1580gr. The decals are understated which I like. The 24 spoke rear has held my 210 lbs thru rough terrain and the occaisional pot hole. Have not had to true them yet. I like these so much, I have bought three pairs to replace factory OEM rims on my three bike.

Replaced my name brand stock wheels, tires and tubes and cut a pound off my wheel weight at a Nashbar bargain price. I've put 200+ miles on the new wheels and so far I'm extremely peased with the upgrade.

Comments about Vuelta Corsa Lite Road Wheelset:

Can't review durability, but initial impressions are very good. Upgrade from stick wheels. Spin up noticeably faster and arrived in true. The ratchet on the rear is pretty loud, but it doesn't bother me. May bother others.

Comments about Vuelta Corsa Lite Road Wheelset:

Replacement for my 2003 Trek 5200 Bontrager RaceLites. The rear hub cracked so needed a replacement.
Got the Vueltas on a sale. Nice solid wheels. Run true. Good price for the quality. Ride a bit stiffer but feel very reliable. Only have about 400 miles on them, but felt like they should last well. Free wheel hub is a bit noisier but get used to it. Wheels spin up good and roll easy. The width of the wheel seems a bit narrow and had a bigger of a time putting on a new foldable tire.
Like the wheels and happy with quality and price. Nice looking too

Comments about Vuelta Corsa Lite Road Wheelset:

I purchased these to replace the stock wheels that came on my 2013 Fuji Roubaix 2.0 LE. The stock rims were solid but heavy. These are significantly lighter than my stock, dramatically. They roll fantastic, and the new updated logos are much improved as far as appearance goes. I paired them with Michelin Krylion tires and lightweight tubes. I noticed that effort was reduced to hold the same speed when cruising the flats, but it wasn't until I hit my first climb that I saw how much of a difference these made. Climbing and descending is where these wheels shine, huge improvement over stock. It feels like I lost 20 pounds. The speed I pick up on descents is 10 fold over the stock wheels. I only have a few hundred miles on them so far, so can't report long term yet. I am a 200 lb rider, and no loose spokes or creaks yet. Riding a century ride in a few weeks so may update review after that ride. Overall, for the money this is an amazing buy and I would highly recommend.

Comments about Vuelta Corsa Lite Road Wheelset:

With the special pricing from Nashbar this was a great deal. They were true out of the box, run smooth and much lighter than the stock Shimano R500's. Are they faster? Maybe - feels like it. The rims are advertised as 6066 aluminum but the printing on the rim says 7000 series. I've got about 300 miles on them over the past few weeks and so far so good.

Comments about Vuelta Corsa Lite Road Wheelset:

Currently being used on my Trek Madone 3.1 roadie. Front wheel arrived a bit out of true, however. Being a former mechanic, I put my skills to work and trued it up without any problems. Box did have a hole on the front wheel side. Perhaps it received a good bump during shipping. Rear wheel arrived true. Great spin-up during acceleration, much better than the heavier stock wheelset. Very happy with this set, but it does have a chatty freehub that I'll have to get used to.

Had a problem with the rear hub, the cogset chewed up the hub. Nashbar replaced both wheels no problem. Otherwise a great set of wheels. Stayed true the 2+yrs I had them. I did not bother to upgrade on the replacements.
