This is my second set of the same size and these seem larger (fatter). I don't think they are really 1 1/8 as advertised.

Comments about Continental Ultra Sport II Road Tire:

These Tires were a great price. I purchased them because of the price and because I wanted a wider then I normally ride, 28mm vs 23mm for spring. The specs for my Scram Force breaks state that they are good for up to a 28mm wide tire but these do not fit. I was able to get the tire on to the bike but the wider tire is also a bigger outside diameter and the tire rubs on the break. No mater the price, not worth it if they don't fit.

    Good tire

Comments about Continental Ultra Sport II Road Tire:

I got the 700x28 size for my wife's bike. She had been riding 23's and 25's, and she wanted something with a little more volume. It's surprising how much bigger these tires are than 25's. They are much more like comfort tires on hydrid/commuter/touring bikes than road tires for speed. But she likes them a lot, she says the bike feels more stable and she's not afraid of trashing her rims on every pot hole and rumble strip.

    Perfect for rollers

Comments about Continental Ultra Sport II Road Tire:

I have been using my Nashbar rollers for about 5 years (in the winter). I usually put on some old road tires because my normal summer tires have too much tread. When they start showing thread I ordered these specifically for my roller use because they have no pattern at all. It made a huge difference. I didn't realize how much noise and vibration was coming from my old tires. These tires are very quiet and smooth. The ride was much nicer and didn't feel like work. They should sell these tires with the rollers as a package.

Purchased to replace stock 25mm tires. I saw these on another road bike and they looked quit "baloony" for a 28mm tire - at least compared to a different brand on another bicycle I have - which is what I was looking for.

Ride is rather plush for this size of tire. Haven't the tires long enough to comment on wear/durability. So far I like them!

Comments about Continental Ultra Sport II Road Tire:

Bought the 25c version of this tire. Mounted on my Vuelta Corsa wheels (with very narrow rims), they measure out to 25.8mm wide with digital calipers. These tires were a easy install despite being a wire bead. For a wire bead, they are also one of the lightest wire bead tires on the market. A 180 TPI casing also gives these tires a great ride quality. Most tires in this price range have only 27-60TPI casing, so the 180 TPI casing provides a supple ride. One thing about these tires that is both a pro and con is the rubber compound: it is very soft. The soft durometer means this tire has lots and lots of grip (when powering out of the saddle I can actually hear the tire fighting for grip - that's how sticky they are). The bad is the soft compound makes them wear rather quickly. I will be happy if I can get 2,000 miles from them, but I have my doubts. I have not ridden these long enough to give any accurate feedback about puncture resistance, but I have yet to flat after 400 miles. For the money, these are a great tradeoff between performance and training. I would like to see the compound slightly harder to be the ultimate training tire.

Comments about Continental Ultra Sport II Road Tire:

Contis are always good tires. Kind of heavy, but at this price I can't complain.

Durable, and they roll quite well for a tire at this weight. The old wire-beads, though heavy, come off and on quite easily. Contis seem to be especially "tall" (high profile) for their width, so they are, in my opinion, less susceptible to pinch flats.
