I wanted a bike to take on weekend trips that would receive less attention than my Serotta does in the back of my truck. The Fastback 1 with its compact gearing was the perfect choice. The bike was packed very carefully at the factory, assembly was straight forward. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I rode it, the bikes ride is lively and it rolls well. The only change I will make to the bike is to install a Shimano chain. Once again Nashbar delivers a great bike at an unbeatable price.

For casual cyclist or for those just getting into competitive cycling, this is a great bike. The bike is light, appears well made and shares many of the components that you would find on popular name brand cycles in the $1,500 to $2,400 range. It took me about two hours to fully assemble the bike and I was off. I used it in my first ever 30 mile bike race and couldn't be happier. In my short time of cycling, the one thing I have learned regarding entry level race/road bikes is to look at the components to make your decision, the frames are all very similar if not the exact same thing you will find on higher priced name brand bikes. Enjoy your ride!

I just finished assembling the bike since it arrived while I was on vacation. I was impressed by the parts quality and light weight. A minor but indicative example is that the seat inclination is adjusted with two screws to whatever exacting position the rider wishes. The frame looks just like the Cannondale Synapse frame. everything on this bike looks like excellent quality. The price was also an excellent value in my opinion. I am older and don't ride a lot but wanted the shifters on the handle bars but didn't want to spend $ 1000 to get them. I have only ridden this around the block but expect it to work well for me. It is light.

I could not find any reviews for this bike and the only picture was the stock one. Let me tell you that the picture does this bike NO justice. It is a brushed aluminum with cool black logos. I unboxed it, put it together and adjusted everything in about an hour. I took it out for a quick ride and was really impressed. The interesting thing is that the owners manual states that Schwinn(at least the Fastback 1) is part of the Cannondale group and the product registration goes to Cannondale. It's interesting because as I unpacked it the seat stays reminded me of my buddy's Cannondale Synapes 6 that I borrowed last year for 2 weeks. Well, who would of thunk that when I took it out for a ride it felt very similar to the Synapse. Schwinn lifetime frame warranty, Shimano Tiagra group set, a very attractive bike and a price that beats Giant, Trek, Cannondale and Specialized by $400-500. Awesome!!
