Don't fret about rapid on-the road/on-the-trail tire inflation when you've got a Nashbar Primo CO2 Inflator along for the ride. Simply lock the inflator onto the valve and control the CO2 flow by twisting the cartridge insulator. The gold anodized head adds some sweet style plus it's all amazingly compact and light to boot. The 16 gram threaded cartridges can fill a road tire to approximately 125-135 psi or a 26" mountain bike tire to 40 psi.

Comments about Nashbar Primo CO2 Inflator:

I was suspect when I got this, The plastic body screamed cheap construction.

The first time I used it it wouldn't inflate and it locked onto the valve stem. I tried adjusting it to no effect. Eventually I managed to pry the body off the valve stem - breaking the inflator and nearly taking my eye out with an explosion of compressed gas. But the valve lock was still on the stem. Getting it off resulted in destroying my valve stem.

Yes, this was probably user error. But this tool should not be that difficult to use, and should not malfunction that easily. My only saving grace was that this happened in my workshop while trying to mount a tubeless tire, and not out on the trail when I really needed it.

Comments about Nashbar Primo CO2 Inflator:

I haven't used it roadside yet, but did try it out in the garage. This was a quick and simple inflator that I'll take with me on every ride. It screws into the presta valve, so it won't slip or lose air. The end with the cartridge also screws in, and likewise it won't lose air, but then it only works with threaded CO2 cartridges. If you don't want to use the plastic piece to protect your hand form the chilled cartridge, you can leave it at home and use the nozzle by itself. By twisting the plastic piece (or the cartridge end of the nozzle), you can turn the valve on or off, offering full control of inflation. Everything works as it should, and I have no reason to think this will malfunction or break in the future.
