Comments about Nashbar Griffin Neoprene Shoe Covers:

my experience with waterproof shoe covers is: they are really only waterproof until they get wet. these work ok. not 100% waterproof. but better than many others. they will wear out pretty fast. mine will likely not make it thru the rest of the rainy season here. they are starting to tear now. they fit very snuggly to my mountain shoes but still manage to leak sometimes. but better than nothing I guess. and the price was reasonable.

Pros

  • Easy to stretch over shoes

Cons

  • Had to send back two pairs, small neoprene tears
  • Needed to reinforce sticking bottom of velcro

Best Uses

  • Road Biking

Comments about Nashbar Griffin Neoprene Shoe Covers:

I recommend but with a caveat that the bottom of the velcro closure spreads open and leads to small tears in the neoprene. Check this and add a few stitches.

Haven't had a chance to use them long term. Tried them on over my cycling sandals and they fit fine, a little tight but I think that is how they are meant to fit. I intend to use them for short touring trips this summer in case it rains.

Comments about Nashbar Griffin Neoprene Shoe Covers:

I bought the large for size 43 touring shoes. You have to stretch these onto your feet. I think they are a good value for the price. A couple of stitches in the pack popped after the first couple of uses, but it is not the main band that holds it together. The neoprene has become detached on my left cover in the back where I stretch it out to connect the vertical velcro strip. The underlying material is still intact. They also have various small cuts and tears after 25-30 rides. While my feet stayed warm (sometimes sweating), my toes would still get cold in the low 40s and below. Maybe it is me or my shoes.

tight fit - slip on a plastic shopping bag over your shoe - then the shoe cover glides right on and off

Comments about Nashbar Griffin Neoprene Shoe Covers:

I got these to keep my feet dry in wet seattle. they are somewhat heavy and not great for road biking. but suffice for commuting. for some reason my feet seem to still get wet. but these help. not sure about durability as I have only used them 3-4 times. but I think they will last a season.

Comments about Nashbar Griffin Neoprene Shoe Covers:

I really wanted something to keep my feet warm, and the last bootie things I bought were too small to fit on my bike shoes. These are stretchy and big enough, definitely not good looking, but worth the warm toes. the construction is not great, some of the stitching pulled loose when I put them on my shoes the first time, and the neoprene needs to be treated gently... overall fine for a low cost solution for cold rainy days, but I don't expect to get may miles out of them

Comments about Nashbar Griffin Neoprene Shoe Covers:

These have kept my feet warm on days hovering around 32F, and are fairly easy to put on once you get used to it. They also managed to fit over my mountain bike shoes, which I was impressed with. However, they are not good for any type of cyclocross or trail riding where you are constantly getting on and off your bike. My second ride with these, a huge chunk got torn out of the toe area.

These are very warm and keep out all the elements. The size L is a snug fit over my 45 shoes but once they're on they're great!
