Comments about Nashbar Full Carbon Road Fork:

I used the Nashbar Full Carbon fork to replace the original fork on my 2007 Raleigh Cadent Carbon as part of a major overhaul to replace the old 105 shifters and Ultegra derailleur drivetrain. The original fork had an alloy steerer and when comparing the weights, the new fork weighed in at 367 grams while the original was a hefty 715g. I have about 120 miles on the new fork so far and it rides very smooth. As far as installing the fork went, the old crown race was really tight to install on the new fork. Cutting the carbon steerer to length was not too hard as I had a cutting guide to help get a straight cut. I tried to saw on the around the outside on three sides that I could access while using the guide. Even with the final cut going through the inside to the outside of the tube, there was no fraying of the carbon. Mounting the front brake went well with the provided caliper nut.

Comments about Nashbar Full Carbon Road Fork:

Good lightweight fork. Weighs in at 380 grams with 56 gram steering tube expander plug. Great budget option for replacing old aluminum or carbon bladed fork. Adequate tire clearance for 25cc + tires

Comments about Nashbar Full Carbon Road Fork:

i don't think it would be fare for me to comment on the ride quality because I swapped -out the fork , tires and stem , so I'll stick with the way it has changed my 2014 Specialized Allez . The fork is very well built and although i know there are lighter forks on the market ( for a lot more $$ ) I really like the change ! It doesn't shutter or flex , and compared to the aluminum fork I took off , it's pretty light . Ride quality is excellent , with my Vittoria Diamonte Pro's , the ride is very good !It was easy to mount , I cut mine with a dremell with a fiber cut-of wheel , like butta ! Love the change !

Comments about Nashbar Full Carbon Road Fork:

It is amazing how much you can spend on a carbon fork but I think the Nashbar full carbon fork is the best deal out there. I can assure you that the ride characteristics of more expensive forks will not convince you that your money was well spent because I've tried it and the improvement of expensive forks is very minimal and even weight reduction is negligible. The Nashbar full carbon fork also looks as elegant as any out there with no logos on it so no one will know how little you spent. Also, the full carbon steerer does reduce vibration slightly over the aluminum crown/steerer so I think it is worth the extra for full carbon when you can get it for so little at Nashbar.

Comments about Nashbar Full Carbon Road Fork:

I purchased an old Cannondale someone had sitting around in their garage, ie. they didn't ride it. I wanted to make it as light as I could. I was surprised however when I pulled the CroMoly fork off, and it was almost as light. I guess I gained some comfort, because they were within a couple ounces of each other. I found that surprising. You can spend a boatload of money on a carbon fork. What's the point? To brag? Who cares about that? This one is light. If you need the bike to be lighter, stay off it. That will make it lighter.
