Cavalo Squadra Dura-Ace Road Bike
If you're as serious about road riding as you are about gram-for-gram value, nothing comes close to the Cavalo Squadra Dura-Ace road bike. Featuring a state-of-the-art carbon fiber frame and fork, the absolutely sublime Shimano Dura-Ace 9000 11-speed mechanical groupset, Zipp Service Course SL bars, stem, and seatpost, plus rock-steady Shimano RS61 wheels, this feather-light carbon creation begs to be pushed to its limits.

The means to exceptional on-the-road performance is founded in a quality carbon fiber frameset, and the Cavalo Squadra is certainly firing on all cylinders. Stiff, light, and responsive, the carbon fiber frame and full carbon fork provide a no-nonsense means to fly up any climb and carve lines down the descents with equal aplomb. The tapered 1-1/8" to 1.5" steerer tube ensures nimble, responsive handling while the massive downtube and PF30 bottom bracket shell means all your watts are transferred into rocket-like acceleration. Worry not about comfort, however, as the seatstays are equisitely thin and do wonders to smooth out the tarmac. No matter if you're aiming to win a county line sprint or a national title, this Squadra carbon frameset is engineered to maximize every iota of strength and power you apply to the pedals.

One runs out of superlatives and apt descriptors when discussing how well-designed, well-crafted, and how flat-out amazing Dura-Ace 9000 11-speed components function. They're ubiquitous in the professional peloton and with good reason as mechanical groups just don't get any better. The shifting is other-worldly smooth and precise via the dual control levers and derailleurs. The crankset, featuring Shimano's new four-arm construction, is lighter and stiffer than ever. The Cavalo Squadra features standard 53/39T chainrings, but the beauty of the new design is that the bolt circle is the same for standard sized and compact chainrings. If you ever want to make the move to compact it's only a matter of swapping out the chainrings - no need to acquire a completely different crankset. The brakes are exquisite in their stopping power and modulation while the 11-speed Dura-Ace 9000 cassette is lighter and quieter than ever.

The handlebars, stem, and seatpost are frequently a place where corners are cut, but when a bike is outfitted with Dura-Ace 11-speed components the rest of the parts most definitely need to pull their weight. And speaking of weight, that's kept to an absolute minimum with the exemplary Zipp Service Course SL line spec'd for the bars, stem, and seatpost. All are made of exceptionally light and strong aluminum and have proven their mettle at the sport's highest level with victories in European Classics as well as Grand Tour stages. On top of that, aesthetically they just look super sharp and clean.

Not only does Shimano make world-class components, but their wheels are also top shelf. Equipped with race-proven technology for everyday use, the Shimano RS61 aluminum wheels deliver a smooth, comfortable ride. Their 16 front/20 rear double-butted, bladed spokes ensure lighter weight and aerodynamics while Shimano's renowned bearings reduce friction and provide smooth rotation. The wheels are set up with Hutchinson Equinox 2 tires - true all-around, all-weather performers with dual compound treads and a compliant, resilient casing. And for added versatility, the RS61 wheels are compatible with tubeless tires, too, if you ever desire to make that transition.

The Cavalo Squadra Dura-Ace road bike is certainly competition-ready right out of the box, but even if you never opt to pin on a number anyone who demands the best out of their bikes will be forever impressed. Ride to your heart's content knowing a world-class road bike will be your partner for each and every pedal stroke.

Comments about Cavalo Squadra Dura-Ace Road Bike:

I have put over 100 miles on this bike since my purchase and after my first ride I told my wife that "spending another thousands more for a "branded" bike would not be worth the extra money." To get a carbon fiber frame with the Dura-Ace drivetrain and brakes, and other higher end components at this price is a very good deal. I have always wanted a bike Dura-Ace components but could not ever bring myself to spend the money it took to get to that level. This Cavalo bike has let me feel good about how much I spent. I paid more on my last bike, a branded carbon fiber bike with 105 components than I did on this bike.

I was also very impressed with how the bike was packaged, the bike looks much better in person than in the pictures and other than some slight adjustments to the brakes, handle bar and seat positions it was ready to go after I put it together.

Comments about Cavalo Squadra Dura-Ace Road Bike:

I've put about 1500 mi. on this bike since May and I have been very happy with it. It's very responsive but not overly stiff. Frame looks very well made and the finish looks top notch. I'm 5'9 and he 54 cm fits me perfectly. Weight as purchased was 16.1 lb. I swapped out wheels (Vuelta corsa SLR) and lighter weight tires from my old bike along with carbon seat post and selle italia SLR saddle which reduced the weight to 14.8 lb. All for well under 3k! Hard to beat the price vs weight anywhere! I've had only one mechanical issue, the FSA BB reducer started to creak horribly after about 500 mi. Due to a lot of play in the crank while peddling. I swapped it out with a better one and the problem was solved. It goes without saying that the full Dura Ace 9000 group is awesome! This bike is well worth the investment. The only downside I believe would be the resale value.

Comments about Cavalo Squadra Dura-Ace Road Bike:

This is a great bike for the money. Dura Ace components at under 3k is a phenomenal deal. Light and comfortable. Took a few trips to a couple bike mechanics to dial in the derailers - the front one proved to be tricky to get adjusted perfectly. Wheels are decent. Seat was not great for me - but that is personal preference on any bike and an easy fix. Had it now for a month have put several hundred miles on it and have no complaints. Shipping was fast and package arrived in perfect condition.
