Comments about Giro Gradis Mountain Shoes - Nashbar Exclusive:

I read the online reviews before buying. I think these are a great value. If you have a US size 15 foot, buy them! There were comments that they were cheaply made. I think someone is being a little picky. They seem well made, look fine, very functional.

Great shoe 100 miles in. Replaced 20 year old MTB shoes and can't believe the value you can get now. Oonly had a couple weeks, but they appear to be well made. You get your money's worth!

Comments about Giro Gradis Mountain Shoes - Nashbar Exclusive:

I wear a solid size 15 and these shoes fit! 15's in anything can be tough to find! It would be nice if the toe box had just a touch more room, but for the money I am very pleased with them, and for owning clipless bike shoes for the first time these work great. I have had them for 16 days now, had 12 rides for a total of 450 miles - the shoes have helped to increase my speed on my trike and have added a significant and important measure of safety for me. My longest ride wearing the shoes has been 41 miles - no hots spots or concerns at all. Walking on them is not a problem either.

Comments about Giro Gradis Mountain Shoes - Nashbar Exclusive:

I have worn these shoes for about 4,000 miles, and the heels on the inside gave out at around 3,000 miles. The exact same thing happened with my previous Giro shoes at about the same distance, even though they were a nicer model. They were definitely worth the money, and I'm saying that as someone who rides like a maniac and walks around in them all the time. The velcro still works fine, but the toes of the shoes have been worn off by walking around in them so much, that happened at about 2,000 miles.

The shoes are well made for the price and good quality. They seem narrow for someone with the average American foot.

Comments about Giro Gradis Mountain Shoes - Nashbar Exclusive:

My old shoes were literally falling apart, and not at a good time financially. These looked like the best deal going in a new shoe. They maybe are.

They fit as expected, sized as expected (order a half or full size up). Cleat mounting and foot support are all okay. The tread pattern does work to help guide the cleat into the pedal and give good traction and decent support when trudging.

But, it is apparent that this is a lower priced product. Fit, finish and plush of the nicer shoes just is not there. The inside of the shoe feels a bit rough and unfinished to the foot. Nothing horrible, just "not-that-nice." It's a decent quality velcro, but only velcro and that will have a finite life.

These shoes are competent but nothing more than that. Not a complaint, just the reality that for this price, something had to go. They prioritized function and that's what you get.

I would recommend these to a friend if he were broke and needing. But would otherwise recommend spending more for a nicer shoe, especially if you're going to spend long hours on the bike.

If you're needing or not sure if you want to stay with the whole clippy pedal thing, then these are a good buy.

I haven't had them long enough to rate durability.

Comments about Giro Gradis Mountain Shoes - Nashbar Exclusive:

I bought the Giro and the Lake shoes because of the price and at that price I could get both and compare. The Lake felt the best when 1st put on...it just fit good. But my heel moved when walking around. The Giro felt stiff but was a lot lighter than the Lake. The Giro held my heel perfectly although the insert left my instep totally unsupported. I had a few arch supports left from a Giro Supernatural insole kit from tuning a pair of Diadora road shoes so I used one to tune the insole on the Giro. That was the nail in the Lake shoes. Giro's were lighter, a little more pretty, held my heel better. If I didn't have the insole kit the Lake probably would've pushed the Giro out. I raced the Maah Dah Hey with the Giro's on 8/06/16 and they were great!!
