Comments about Topeak Headlux Helmet Light:

I use the product on a 2-hour commute which requires lights the whole way. I bought the product for supplemental lighting.
Initially, the light worked as advertised in the front constant, rear blink mode. However, in 5-10 minutes, the front light began to pulse. When I checked at the end of the ride, at least the front light was still lit. In the other two modes, the front light dimmed to almost nothing. The rear worked as advertised. Fresh batteries (long before they should have been needed) fixed the issue for 1-2 commutes, but the issue reappeared thereafter. The pulsing light is distracting.
I'll only keep it because paying $8 to return it is pointless.

            Strap design is terrible

Comments about Topeak Headlux Helmet Light:

First, let me say that the lighting function is top notch.

The problem is that the velcro strap was designed so that one has to tighten the free end UNDER the rest of the strap. (take a look at the picture and you'll see what I mean) - Imagine putting on a belt for your pants... now imagine that the free end of the belt doesn't come UP through the buckle, but instead has to go DOWN through the buckle (so that it's now *under* the rest of the belt. Now imagine that the belt is velcro covered, so that as you're trying to pull it tighter:
                a) It's now starting to catch the velcro on the underside of the rest of the belt
                b) once you get the belt slightly tight, you can no longer get your fingers underneath the belt to keep pulling on the free end.

It looks fine in the picture, but now try to envision how the helmet comes into the picture and how difficult it becomes to pull a velcro end tighter when it lies between the rest fo the strap (above) and the helmet (below).

I don't know why they didn't simply have a 2-slot buckle with hook velcro on the top side of the strap near the buckle and soft velcro on the underside of the free end.

I hope they fix this, because what would otherwise be an excellent product is, instead, a frustrating ordeal.

Disclaimer: I recommended a friend buy this, and then I offered to install it for her.
