Comments about Nashbar Shop Chain Tool:

I really like the design of the tool itself. the spring loaded pin helps keep the chain lined up. that being said, the tabs that the chain rests on to re-install the pin broke off on the first use...they are extremely thin and not well constructed. I can still use it to remove pins from a chain but will have to buy another one. my advice is to spend the extra money and pay for quality

Comments about Nashbar Shop Chain Tool:

many uses said this tool was either great or broke early on. I'm good with tools and I've used chain breaks for decades so I figured I'd give it a try. I even read the directions even though it is similar to others I've had. Nope. I tried being very careful, and it still bent on the first use and snapped on the second.

Comments about Nashbar Shop Chain Tool:

I've used this tool several times and it works flawlessly. It comes with a spare drive pin in the handle. Replacing the pin was a challenge, as the original was held in by chrome collar, that I damaged in removing with pliars, which was just for practice, as it was working fine. Nuts. Fortunately, the Tech rep at Nashbar was sympathetic and will send me a replacement part. They will also investigate a better way to replace the pin. Overall a great tool, as long as you don't mess with replacing the drive pin
