Topeak Prepstand Elite Repair Stand
When it comes to the Topeak Prepstand Elite Workstand, outside of actually riding your bike for you, there's not much it can't do. Low weight, high technology, plus superior function and design make the Prepstand Elite a great choice for road trips or race day.

Incredible stability is provided by the tripod design's agile, rubberized feet. Its non-marring rubber jaws gently hold your bike in place and it quickly packs down for race day by way of its two QR clamps. As a bonus, there's also a built-in small parts bin to help keep you organized during repairs and maintenance.

At only 13.23 lbs, it's easy to haul the Prepstand Elite around wherever you go. We love that you can even mount a larger mountain bike, which eliminates the need for separate road and mountain workstands when you travel with your family or friends.
  • Made of lightweight 6061 aluminum

Comments about Topeak Prepstand Elite Repair Stand:

Have only had this stand for a couple of weeks but
I have repaired or adjusted several bikes with it and it seems to work well. I thought that the hanger arm could be a little more stable for the price.

Comments about Topeak Prepstand Elite Repair Stand:

The stand is very easy to fold up and also to deploy. My two gripes are:
    1. You have to screw/unscrew the clamp that holds the bike in place - there is no spring or other device so you can put the bike on it and just close the clamp. This would be an issue for someone who does not have the strength to support a bike in one hand while turning the knob with the other. (One star off.)
    2. The entire clamping mechanism dips slightly towards the floor. I feel it should be parallel to the floor. Other stands I've used also 'dip' so no points off on this. Just can figure out why this is so hard to resolve.

Comments about Topeak Prepstand Elite Repair Stand:

Bought on steep discount, which made this a bargain. So far I'm impressed with its low weight and adjustability. You can raise and lower the bike a great deal, and the pneumatic mechanism in the main bar prevents the bike from being dropped in the event you forget to secure the quick-release lever.

Initially, I was concerned that the tightening knobs would be annoying to use because they don't open/close as quickly as the competition, but this hasn't been the case.

I haven't used any other stands, so I'm not sure if this next concern is warranted or not. The stand does seem to wobble a little bit when working on the bike, but I'm assuming this is not significantly different than any other adjustable, portable stand out there. Seems to me like the only solid stand would be industrial-grade and secured permanently to the floor.

Bottom line, I recommend this stand, especially if it's on sale.

Comments about Topeak Prepstand Elite Repair Stand:

I really wanted to like this stand, but in the end it just seems too "flexy" for my needs and tastes. For example, removing cranks requires a little torque and the stand head flexed badly--it appears to be all plastic and does not lock into place very stiffly.

The mechanism to clamp to the bike frame or seat post is very good. If all you plan do do with this stand is clean your bike and do minor adjustments, then it should be OK. If you plan to do serious work like bike builds then I would opt for something sturdier.

This an excellent tool for bike maintenance. It,s my first work stand and my only regret is that I didn't buy it years ago. Plenty strong and convenient for any thing I have done on a road bike. Have not had it long enough to comment on durabilty, but seems to be built well
