Sound is a little bigger than the bell.

Pros

  • Big Strap
  • Small

Cons

  • Not The Loudest

Best Uses

Comments about Cateye Kodama Bell:

It is a small bell. If you want a big sound better get a bigger bell. Works fine for bike paths and rail to trails. Some people with ear buds might not hear it but that is not the bell's fault. Piercing, high tone ring.

Not Loud enough

By Pete

Verified Buyer

Comments about Cateye Kodama Bell:

Didn't trust other reviews saying it wasn't loud enough. i figured I didn't need a loud bell, just enough to alert someone i was passing. I tried it out of the box and thought it would be OK, but on the road, while you are moving, people don't hear it unless you get very close. It is not going to work for me.

Tiny Bell with Volume to Match

    Comments about Cateye Kodama Bell:

I got this bell because most won't mount on 32mm bars. I was surprised by the bell's small size. The bell is not loud at all. What good is a bell if you can't here it?

      Comments about Cateye Kodama Bell:

This bell was smaller than I realized when I bought it. It's ring is relatively quiet. It may be adequate for low speeds, but probably won't get peoples' attention from far enough away if you are riding fast. You'll need to slow down and get closer before they'll hear you.

Compact and easy to install. Volume is the only thing that stops me giving it 5 stars. I think it could be louder.
