Diamondback Trace Sport Bike
If riding on asphalt as well as dirt or gravel roads is equally appealing, why not choose a bike that can handle it all? The Diamondback Trace Sport combines mountain bike-like geometry with the efficiency of larger 700c road wheels in a well-built, reliable, multi-terrain package. A 6061-T6 butted aluminum frame gives a durable, yet responsive, ride and its disc brake mount is located on the chainstay, giving you room to bolt-on a fender or rack for commuting. The SR Suntour NVX suspension fork with 75mm of travel adds stability and dampens vibrations to keep you comfortable over changing terrain. Additionally, a 24-speed Shimano drivetrain with a SR Suntour XCT triple crank offers a wide range of gears for the hills and the flats. Tektro Aries mechanical disc brakes deliver all-condition stopping power while plush 700x45 Kenda Bitumen tires provide all-around performance on either dirt or pavement.
  • 6061-T6 butted aluminum frame is light, strong, and sturdy
  • SR Suntour NVX suspension fork provides 75mm of travel to smooth out the ride on bumpy terrain
  • 24-speed drivetrain with SR Suntour triple crankset helps flatten hills and speed along on flat terrain
  • Shimano RapidFire shifters provide easy, precise gear changes
  • Tektro Aries mechanical disc brakes provide dependable stopping power - rain or shine
  • 700c wheels and Kenda Bitumen tires are perfect for pavement and hard-packed dirt or gravel
  • Diamondback double-wall aluminum rims laced to SL-7 alloy hubs ensure strength and durability

Comments about Diamondback Trace Sport Bike:

The DiamondBack online videos were very helpful when adjusting the disc brakes. I replaced the saddle for comfort.

I liked it enough that we ordered a DiamondBack Calico Sport for my wife!

Comments about Diamondback Trace Sport Bike:

I mainly ride for exercise.I would try to get 11-15 miles per day weather permitting on the bike. I had no problem assembling the bike. The instructions are clear. I will add a rack and kick stand, I just have to figure out which stand is best for the Trace Diamondback

Comments about Diamondback Trace Sport Bike:

This was my first new bike since I was like 9. Getting back into riding as it is something my wife and I can do together, gets us outside, easier on the knees than running, and all of that... I picked this bike because of the dual sport aspect - something that would roll well on paved rails to trails, but be fine on gravel, dirt etc. too. I wanted the option to do some mild mountain biking, and was just not ready to go full upright/comfort bike yet... I thought I would try disc brakes, and I went back and forth on whether suspension fork would be a benefit or not. Still not sure it is worth the weight, but whatever... I am still fine tuning shift indexing, and brake set up and once I get those wired I think it will be perfect and I plan to ride it till my neck, elbows, wrists, etc tell me it is time to embrace full geezerhood and get an old man bike. I will also add, that my wife says that this bike has made me harder to keep up with - probably just because bigger wheels, less rolling resistance etc. than my 90's mountain bike with 2.25 knobbys.

Comments about Diamondback Trace Sport Bike:

Bought this bike to ride with wife, as a second bike. She doesn't ride road bike. The bike is surprisingly comfortable and easy to ride. I like the components except front derailleur, it is the cheaper one. For the price I paid, I like it overall

Comments about Diamondback Trace Sport Bike:

We bike on back roads and trails. Well built bike with 'good enough' components. Not sure about durability since I just put it on the road. Reviews on other sites for this bike are favorable. Bike was not difficult to assemble but using a bike stand helped a lot (as well as good tunes and two cold IPA's). Diamondback's assembly vdeos are pretty easy to follow. Might have to check a couple of YouTubes for dialing in disc brakes just right, but not too difficult. Packaging was excellent - bike arrived with no damage or defects. I am 5'10" with 30" inseam so ordered Medium - fits well with about 1/2" - 1" standover clearance. Overall very happy with the bike and would recommend it.

Comments about Diamondback Trace Sport Bike:

I've had the bike in the shop twice to adjust the derailleurs. I've had to adjust the brakes a couple times too. Once it's dialed in, it's a great bike! These aren't really cons considering it was shipped to me and not assembled at the shop. The chain was no good when I received it as well. It had a stiff chain link that both I and the the shop guy were unable to loosen up. I contacted Nashbar customer service about it and they sent me a new chain in two days. Great bike and great customer service!
