Mekk Pinerolo SE 0.3 Road Bike
The Mekk Pinerolo SE 0.3 delivers a remarkable amount of road bike value at a stellar price. Sporting classic road geometry that's matched with a timeless paint scheme, the Pinerolo SE 0.3 a true all-arounder as its double-butted aluminum frame and carbon fiber-bladed fork provide a superb, high-performance platform. The Shimano Tiagra shifters and derailleurs provide silky smooth and precise shifting on the 2x10-speed drivetrain while the Shimano R500 aluminum wheels coupled with Schwalbe Lugano tires are the epitome of dependability. Comments about MEKK Bicycles Mekk Pinerolo SE 0.3 Road Bike:

I was very excited to purchase this bike. However, it's been a rough first two weeks with the bike. Here's why:

Assembly: The fork was loose (very dangerous); front derailleur would not shift up even after making adjustments; the rear deraileur needed major adjust as well (chain run and rough shifting)...I eventually took it to LBS to have them look it over and they fixed the front derailleur as well as correct the fork installation. They said I was lucky not to have ridden it much or it could have been disastrous.

Ride: I got a puncture the first 5 miles of riding. I don't know if it is due to the quality of the tube/tires (schwalbe lugano) but that was bothersome. So I've already patched up the brand new tube; the saddlepost will not secure tightly. It will inevitably after every ride; took off some grease from the seat tube and it still slides. I used the torque wrench and tightened it accordingly (5nM) but still no joy. The aluminum frame is very stiff and therefore you will feel every little bump in the rode. It turns very well and is very responsive. It is pretty stable at high speeds as well going downhill. After the LBS adjusted my gears correctly, the bike shifted like a dream, easy up hills and fast down and through the flats.

Sizing: I got the 54cm frame. I am 5'10" with a 31 in. inseam. I measured my torso and everything. The top tube is relatively short compared to the mekk pinerolo al but I still feel a little stretched out. I should've gone with the 52cm but it's no big deal really. Fit is fairly comfortable.

Overall: Would I buy it again? Yes, but I would take it straight to the LBS and have them assemble it. I would also purchase extra inner tubes and a patch kit. A CO2 inflator and a few cartridges as well. Happy riding.

Comments about MEKK Bicycles Mekk Pinerolo SE 0.3 Road Bike:

Purchased after a long searching period. Test rode bikes from Trek, Specialized, Giant, and Cannondale and all were great but a bit more than I wanted to spend. I could not be happier with this bike.

After comparing the geometry chart with the bikes i had test rode I ordered a size smaller (56cm vs usual 58cm) and the fit is perfect.

Bike arrived in excellent condition and final assembly went quickly. Another hour spent adjusting the shifters and brakes and everything is in working order. The Tiagra 4700 is an excellent groupset and compares favorably to my friends 10sp 105 groupset.

The frame is very well built and is light enough for my purpose. It is a fairly aggressive geometry and responds well without being overly twitchy. The blue color is closer to teal than the photos make it appear, but this is in no way a bad thing to my eyes.

My 56cm complete bike with pedals weighed 21.8lbs on a semi accurate scale so expect somewhere between 21 and 22 lbs..

If you can assemble and adjust a bike, nothing big name can touch this for the money.
