Giro Wind Shirt - Closeout
The Giro Wind Shirt is a merger of the classic long sleeve button shirt design plus high tech fabric for a garment that's at home both on and off the bike. The Wind Shirt utilizes a modern take on waxed cotton that's windproof, water-shedding, and highly breathable. Its clean seams and hidden details create a refined look, exemplified in the Ride Position Flex Pleats located on the back of the garment. They lay flat when off the bike, but in the riding position they open up to allow stretch.
  • Epic by Nextec material is windproof, water-resistant, and breathable
  • Full zipper and button front closure (Note: Desert Tan color features button closure only)
  • Ride Position Flex Pleats enhance comfort on the bike
  • Hidden chest pocket
  • Sewn in California

Bought 3 of this shirts - 1 for each color available. Why not, for the price, it was a no brainer. I wear it to work for Thursday's and Friday's casual. It does a good job breaking the wind and like the water resistance. Time will tell on the durability. As mentioned by other reviewers, the arms are on the longer side(mine works).

The only thing I see that can make it better is a slimmer zipper. It becomes bulky when tucked in.

Comments about Giro Wind Shirt - Closeout:

The medium fit me perfectly; the small was a little large for my wife. Strange that the grey one has both buttons and a zipper, while the tan only has buttons. The small has really long sleeves. Quite comfortable, despite the "waxed" cotton construction. Nice as a raincoat, on or off the bike. On deep sale, can't be beat.

Comments about Giro Wind Shirt - Closeout:

I'm 6' tall, 170 lbs. I ordered 4 of these shirts, one for myself, the others for my adult kids. The large is a very very tight fit. I can barely squeeze my arms through the sleeves. If you do any weight lifting, I can't imagine this will fit. I won't be able to wear anything under it. I'm going to end up giving my shirt away; it is just too tight. That's the inherent risk of buying on the internet.
on the plus side, it looks to be very well made, is very light weight, and the fabric has a very smooth texture.

I read a couple not so great reviews about this shirt. But, for the sale price, I had to get a couple. I was not disappointed. I am glad I got two of them.

I commute every day, rain or shine. This shirt is a great deal at clearance price. It is a good wind barrier and a decent combo of breathability and water resistance. Perfect for cool and damp mornings. Allows you to blend in with the crowd after you get off your bike. Runs on the small side of the size range.

Comments about Giro Wind Shirt - Closeout:

I wear the shirt as an additional layer for cold and rain. It is well made and is an attractive outer layer, and folds nicely to fit into my jersey rear pocket when I warm up.
Regarding size, I generally live on the edge between small and medium. In this case, I bought medium and I'm really glad I didn't buy small. The medium is a touch tight in the chest and oddly, a touch long in the arms. Neither is a deal breaker, though.

Comments about Giro Wind Shirt - Closeout:

I bought this shirt because I thought it would be unique.
I was right about that. It has both a zipper and buttons and is a bit crinkly in texture. I do like that it appears to be water resistant. I don't like that it runs small and the XL size was not available.
I actually purchased another in black.

Comments about Giro Wind Shirt - Closeout:

I brought all 3 colors of this shirt with the black given as a gift. Both the black and cement had an internal zipper in addition to hidden buttons. The desert tan version only had buttons.

The feel of the shirt is starchy/rough. Just imagine it as having a windbreaker feel even though it is almost 100% cotton (cut with some lycra). That's because the cotton is treated with "NexTec" - which provides it with both windblocking and water resistance characteristic. How this plays out after multiple washing remains to be seen.

As far as sizing is concern - I think it runs true to size. I ride with 38/40 cm bars and the small fits just fine with some room to give. Not sure if it will shrink in the wash, but I usually hang dry my tech gear.

Manufacturing quality is on point. It's sewn in 'Merica!

Overall a great shatket to puts around town or commute to the office in style. Oh ... and at a dirt cheap price to boot!

Sizing was smaller than the XLg listed. Cloth felt slick, sewing was so-so.
