Mekk Primo 6.6 Road Bike
Mekk certainly hit the mark by using Primo to name their top-of-the-line, truly race-ready road bike. Primo may be a position you grow accustomed to as the aero-optimized, full carbon frame and fork provides the foundation for finding your way to the top step of the podium in any competitive endeavor you may undertake on the road. Spec'd with Shimano Ultegra 6800 11-speed mechanical components, you know the Primo 6.6 means business.

At the Primo 6.6's heart is a monocoque frame constructed from the finest grade of Japanese carbon fiber. Not only are the sculpted tubes designed to slice through the wind, the stout BB86 bottom bracket is mated to oversized chain stays to make sure there's no power loss through frame flex when you're in the midst of throwing down maximum watts. For added wind-cheating capacity, the rear brake is neatly tucked away under the chain stays while the seat tube sports a recessed section for the rear wheel to tuck into. Up front there's also a full carbon fork with aero blades that features a tapered 1-1/8" to 1.5" steerer for unrivalled stiffness and perfect handling. Shimano's superb Ultegra 6800 11-speed components are just a hair's breadth away from Dura-Ace in performance at a more economical price. The Primo 6.6 features Ultegra 6800 shift/brake levers, derailleurs, and compact crankset for pro-level performance and Shimano's renowned precision and reliability. The no-holds-barred, race-ready theme continues with the inclusion of Mekk's own Saturae deep profile carbon wheels - sporting a 50mm deep profile - topped off by Continental Grand Sport Race tires. There's more Mekk-branded componentry with a rock-solid aluminum handlebar and stem cockpit combined with an aero carbon seatpost. The Italian-made Selle San Marco ERA Dynamic saddle is a stellar touch to let you know the Primo 6.6 is a true road ravishing thoroughbred.

Note: The only difference between this version of the Mekk Primo 6.6 and the version with Nashbar item # MK-PR66 is the color.

Mekk is the brainchild of Mark Edwards (ME) and Ken Knight (KK), a pair of Brits with extensive experience in high-performance cycling at both the racing and production end of the spectrum. Nashbar is proud to be the exclusive purveyor of their bicycle line in the United States.

Comments about MEKK Bicycles Mekk Primo 6.6 Road Bike:

I've had this bike for about a month now and I love everything about it!

After riding a Bianchi Pista for the last 8 years I decided to upgrade and I'm so glad I did. The Mekk Primo is extremely well-made, light, strong, and super fast. I haven't been on any rides longer than 50 miles yet, but I've really enjoyed the shorter (20-50 mile) rides I've done so far.

This Mekk is extremely fast in a straight line thanks to the 50mm carbon Saturae wheels and aero frame, and it also climbs well from what I've seen so far. The riding position is a little more aggressive, which is something I like, and it also handles and accelerates really well. Mine came with an Ultegra front brake (thanks Nashbar!) and I swapped out the rear 105 brake for an Ultegra one and added Ultegra pedals and some Swiss Stop black prince carbon pads for better braking. The seat has been fine for me so far, but we'll see if that's still the case after some longer rides.

I'm 5'11, 165 and went with the 54 inch frame and it seems just right. I got it during a 27% off sale, which is a total steal for the quality of this bike. I did a ton of research before I bought this bike, and it's hard to find a better value for such a high end package.

Comments about MEKK Bicycles Mekk Primo 6.6 Road Bike:

Just a few minor adjustments, put pedals on and right out onto the road. I have ridden about 300 miles on the bike so fair and it is one of my favorite bikes of all time! Nice tight geometry paired with the compact crank make this bike great for both sprinting and cornering. Comfortable climbing positions keep the power on the pedals uphill while the carbon wheels help with the speed going down. The only problem adjustment I had was trying to adjust the seat, not a lot of room to get the allen wrench in. Great looking bike too!

Very good value for the dollars. Really notice the quicker, smoother ride at higher speed, as compared to my old ride. Found it to be pretty much dialed in out of the box. I am even keeping the seat.
