      Comments about CatEye HL-EL140 Headlight:

I guess there were trying to make you visible from 360 degrees, but it bleeds light in all directions. I wanted to add a little visibility to my road bike since I have a few busy intersections on my route, but this light is way too annoying and distracting to use during day light. I have no idea how anyone can tolerate constant flare during dark.

      Comments about CatEye HL-EL140 Headlight:

I love Cat Eye lights for their great light output and conservative battery use. This model is nice and small, and puts out decent amount of light given its size. It would be ideal except for the slight design flaw. The upper cover should extend all the way to the front portion of the light. Since it doesn't, some of the l.e.d. light shines back into the rider's face. This is disruptive to a rider's night vision. I overcame this flaw with a slight adjustment--duct tape over that small portion in the front. Problem solved with that simple, cheap fix--no more light in my face!
