Breezer, one of the oldest names in mountain biking, will have you ripping through your local trails on the 2016 edition of the Thunder Expert 29er. Built around one of the most proven geometries in racing history, the Breezer Thunder Expert starts with a classic aluminum hardtail frame sporting an impressive array of modern features. The Thunder Expert 29er sports a 2x10-speed Shimano drivetrain a mixture of Deore and Deore XT components for the shifters and derailleurs. The 38/24T chainring in conjunction with the 11-36T 10-speed cassette provide all the gears you need to tackle the ups and downs of your most challenging trails. When it comes time to hit the brakes, the Shimano hydraulic disc brakes ensure you have all the stopping power you need in any and all conditions. The 29" WTB STP i19 rims are tubeless ready and sport WTB's grippy Nine Line 29er tires for all-around performance.
Comments about Breezer Thunder 29 Expert Mountain Bike:
Bike was shipped promptly and nearly completely assembled. Assembly was simple with only Allen wrenches required. However, if you are not mechanically inclined or lack basic bike maintenance skills, I would recommend having your local bike shop assemble it. With the steep discount Nashbar is offering you will still come out WAY ahead! Now, on to the ride! This is a fairly high end bike for the price. The XT rear derailleur and Rock Shox Recon Fork are nice additions at this price point. The rest of the drivetrain components are middle of the road but function well. You can always replace them with higher end components as they wear out. The ride is very smooth for a hard tail and the 29 inch wheels, fat tires and excellent forks help smooth out the bumps. It climbs as only a hard tail can and descends as fast as your skills will allow. My only minor complaint would be that the bike is a little on the heavy side. Overall, I am VERY pleased with the ride, quality and value of this bike!
