Comments about VP Components VX E Mountain Pedals:

I bought the first pair for my aluminum road bike. Would have bought 2 pair but wanted to see and try them. They're perfect, tuned them and put 115 miles on them. Ordered the second pair for my carbon road bike and put 50 miles on them last weekend.
Excellent value, I recommend them to my friends.

Comments about VP Components VX E Mountain Pedals:

I bought these for my kids (10-year-old twins) as their first clipless pedals, and on the lowest retention setting, they are much easier to clip out of than other SPDs. I don't think an aggressive rider should feel particularly confident in them, but they are perfect for kids learning clipless.

Comments about VP Components VX E Mountain Pedals:

I want clipless pedals to replace the platforms on my backup bike. The price is what attracted my to these pedals. I didn't want to some a bundle on my backup bike. After 200 miles the only complaint would be that they are a tad heavy. Outside of that I am very happy with these pedals. Along with the new tires I put on, my backup bike feels like a new bike.

        Value Pedals That Need Adjusting

Comments about VP Components VX E Mountain Pedals:

These pedals seem well built. The cones do come pretty tight. Just pop off the plastic outer cap (I couldn't make it pretty), and you have your basic cone assembly, like wheel hubs. With a little fiddling, I backed the pressure of the bearings. I sprayed some white lithium grease (from a can) and spun it around a bit. They seem pretty smooth, but nothing like the Zefals on my son's bike.

I'm on tight budget. It was this or keeping my stock pedals with plastic toe clips.

These pedals seem to be made well but the bearings in them are really tight and rough. Would not use for anything except a trainer bike. I guess the included cleats themselves were worth the sale price .

Got these for my wife so she get used this type of peddle. They feel very stiff. Don't feel like they have any grease at all. Have not disassembled them yet. But feel I will have to just out of curiosity. Price was right in any case. As my wife is not that discerning spend a bit more and get the nashbar or shimonos when on sale.

Comments about VP Components VX E Mountain Pedals:

Awesome pedals for starting clipless riding and commuting! I've been using these for 6 months now, riding about 100+ km a week commuting in the city (heavy stops/traffic) and they're still running fine! They're heavy but they spin well and seems to be lasting long for me. I don't know about mountain biking, but for commuting and slight road riding (I did several 100+ km touring rides with these) they're impressive.

For the cost these are as good as any other SPD clipless that I have used in the past. I have had opportunity to use them and they function properly. They provide a set of cleats as well which I consider a plus. Durable, well made, good value.

Bought for use with an exercise bike so weight doesn't matter. Pedals won't be exposed to weather so they should last as long as the bike. Bearings seem a bit too tight and stiff.
