Comments about Brooks B17 Special Green / Copper Saddle:

I have been using Brooks saddles on my bikes for years. I replaced the 10 year old Team Pro, on my rodie, with a Swift that I could never get comfortable on, with the B17. I currently ride a Champion Flyer on my touring bike and since the top is the same, decided to give this saddle a try because I could no longer find a Team Pro in the Green with large copper rivets. This saddle is classy and should serve me well for many years to come. All Brooks saddle take some breaking in time (some longer than others) and become more comfortable over time, if they fit you! You should also be aware that Brooks saddle sit up isn't quite the same as many other saddles, so listen to what your body is telling you, and don't be afraid to make adjustments.

Comments about Brooks B17 Special Green / Copper Saddle:

This was my first Brooks and it was light years better than my stock saddle right out of the box. I have put at least 4 thousand miles on the thing and comfort is just something I take for granted now. I Commute on it 30 miles round trip each day.

Heavy? Sure, but the foul weather bike weighed 50 lbs bagged up in winter trim, so who cares? I'll be picking up a Swift for the cross bike because the 'racing' saddle on there now is hell-on-a-post.

Comments about Brooks B17 Special Green / Copper Saddle:

I have ridden this solid for over a year. Day in and day out. Hard as a rock and uncomfortable. Absorbs sweat well, but Jesus. I'd gladly own a sweaty and comfortable than a non-sweaty and butt-bruising saddle. Brooks Saddles are all hype. The emperor has no clothes. Let's get real. If I never had to sit on it, it's a thing of beauty. But as a saddle, it's dumpster fodder.

Comments about Brooks B17 Special Green / Copper Saddle:

I had three saddles of this style in the last dozen years on all my bikes and will not ride anything else.
Not the lightest saddle in the world, it is actually probably the heaviest. But this saddle is sooooo comfortable on long hard rides. Some people may not be able to get used to this type of saddle or stick with the saddle long enough to break it in (it leather like a pair of shoes). Sometimes the break in period may take longer than a rider wants to endure. My experience is that the saddle is comfortable right out of the box.

Comments about Brooks B17 Special Green / Copper Saddle:

I have used this saddle on a Bianchi Milano and on a Cannondale R 600. Yes it screams " I will never be like you" to the competetive crowd, but for the 30-50 mile rides I do, a very comfortable saddle. All my rides have a Brooks saddle. It is a bit heavy and that is my only complaint.

Comments about Brooks B17 Special Green / Copper Saddle:

I just got the British Racing Green Special and it is beautiful, much darker than the picture. I wanted to switch because my wife had gotten a B17 flyer 8 months ago to replace her stock Specialized saddle that was giving her chaffing and soreness even on short rides. She has been loving it. Meanwhile I had soreness on any ride >5 miles with my stock saddle. After making a few adjustments I spent 30 mins in the saddle and instantly knew this was a whole different experience. My wife's Brooks is only getting more comfortable. I look forward to putting miles on mine. Never mind the weight unless you are a racer, you will recover the added weight in added ride length due to comfort.
