Comments about Nashbar Trekking Mountain Bike Handlebar:

Great all around bar. Much more comfortable than a flat bar , with multiple hand positions eliminating numb hands and allowing variation in engaging your core. uses standard flat bar brakes/shifters, with no need to modify cables and for me allowd use of original stem. Great hill climbing bar out of the saddle.

Comments about Nashbar Trekking Mountain Bike Handlebar:

These bars have a slight rise which means you can flip them and have a slight drop(my setup). I used drop bars before and I'm just as fast with these. You can find great positions for climbing. The break, gear shift position is best on the second curve from the stem. Placing them on the end of the bars does not make sense because most people will not place there hands there very often. I thought about getting these for years and I'm glad I finally did.

Comments about Nashbar Trekking Mountain Bike Handlebar:

It took Al of thirty seconds for me to realize I loved this bar. I've been looking at it online for two years and am so glad I finally ordered it. Provides me at least three different comfortable hand positions and took very little time to set up. Changing the angle can make a very big difference so it's not a bad idea to play around with it a little right at first. Definitely a must buy for anyone riding any kind of real distance.

Comments about Nashbar Trekking Mountain Bike Handlebar:

I put these handlebars and skinny tires on my old mountain bike to use on a 200 mile road tour. I've had issues with hand numbness before and these bars are great to allow many different hand positions. I mounted the bars upside down from the photo shown but you can see which way feels best. I wrapped most of the bars with cushioned tape.

Installed these on my Surley LHT. Had these on my Novara Randonee also. Mine are double wrapped for comfort. They are much more comfortable and versatile than drop bars. Try them once, and you'll stop making fun of them...

Comments about Nashbar Trekking Mountain Bike Handlebar:

I didn't realize that I needed a 31.8mm clamp to fit my stem. I was guided to a source for shims but decided that I wanted a heavier bar for touring. This bar is very light and seems somewhat spindly but it was nicely finished. Seems 24mm clamp bars are common in N. A. although my bike is an American made bike.
