Comments about Nashbar Self-Sealing MTB Tube:

do not buy these, I was wary after reading reviews but purchased 2 to try out. one came with a hole in it already and would not seal, just spouted liquid all over the place. Second one pumped up fine but the self sealing liquid came out of stem after I pumped tire up and blocked so I could not release air. This product is terrible. Nice idea but just go old school with tire and patch and you'll be better off.

Comments about Nashbar Self-Sealing MTB Tube:

I have been using these self-sealing Nashbar branded inner tubes for many, many years. The recent tubes have improved since the stem now does have threads and a nut, making inflation much easier. An advantage besides the self-sealing is that normal pressure degradation over time is slower ... i.e. without self sealing tubes I would pump my tires (93-psi) 1 or 2x per week. With these I tend to pump 1 or 2x per month. (I typically will pump up when I drop to 80-psi unless I am about to go for a multi-hour ride.)

I have ridden as cold as 18-deg F below zero, these tubes have no problem at that temperature.

Comments about Nashbar Self-Sealing MTB Tube:

one of the two tubes had a pinhole leak too small to measure right out of the box and would not self seal. I had to apply a rubber cement and a patch to get the tube to seal.

Comments about Nashbar Self-Sealing MTB Tube:

After installing and inflating both tubes, I noticed one went flat about an hour later. I pumped it up and it went flat again. I never even took them out of the garage. I pumped it a third time and it still lost air. So I removed the tube and inflated it and found a small pinhole leak with some yellow liquid emerging from the pinhole, but it wouldn't seal. So I cleaned it up and put rubber cement and a patch on it and now it seals. I was disappointed that the tube had a pinhole right out of the box and that the liquid inside the tube could not effectively seal the pinhole.

Comments about Nashbar Self-Sealing MTB Tube:

Having slimed tubes makes all the difference in the world! I've tried other products, both tubes & inner-sealant, but none have come through nearly as well as BikeNashbar pre-slimed tubes. This is particularly true for presta valve, which is exceptionally difficult to slime at home/on the road. Given a choice, I'll pedal on a BikeNashbar slimed tube long before anything else, and I have over 100,000miles/160,000kms touring/commuting in my legs!
