Comments about Shimano 5500 Bottom Bracket:

I have been using the Octa-link V1 bb spindles for almost 20 years. I have never had one to fail. This innovation was one of the most important ones that Shimano has introduced because it almost completely eliminated the need to trim the front derailleur and that was a very important thing for me. It made cycling much more enjoyable.

Comments about Shimano 5500 Bottom Bracket:

I was looking for a replacement for my 14-year-old Ultegra BB and this one did the trick. Fit was perfect. I did the install myself.

Comments about Shimano 5500 Bottom Bracket:

I have a Cannondale road bike and I ride 80 to 100 miles per day as well as weekend time trials so I really put miles onto my components. I have come to trust and rely on Shimano's baby brother to Dura-ace....the 105. I get years of wonderful, smooth and reliable performance....at a great price!!!! COST EFFECTIVENESS AND GREAT PERFORMANCE!!!!

Comments about Shimano 5500 Bottom Bracket:

I was surprised at the cost of this BB. I'm sure I remember paying a lot less the last time I needed one. I guess they are getting rare now everything is going to external BBs. I get about a year and half out of these on my commuter/bad weather bike so I might just do a crank upgrade next time and get something with bigger external bearings.
