Comments about Shimano M162 Mountain Shoes:

The top strap began to rip shorty after I bought them. My local bike dealer contacted Shimano and they warrantied them but stated these were discontinued. They gave me a new pair comparable but I don't like the look or quality of the new pair. I should have spent a little more in the 1st place.

Comments about Shimano M162 Mountain Shoes:

Very happy with my purchase. Design is great. If they are anything like my like my last pair of Shimano shoes, they will last several years. Love the design. Very functional. Only issue is that they are a bit heavy. If you race it might be a concern, however, I stopped counting grams years ago. Great shoe for the money.

Comments about Shimano M162 Mountain Shoes:

Used the same size of Shimano shoe that I currently have (42). Was at least a full size too small. Sent back. Now it appears they don't have a 43. Waiting to hear if they will restock or not. Appear to be decent shoes if you get one that fits. Don't seem very wide either, but hard to tell when the shoe is too small front to back. Oh well, wish they would've fit as I use Crank Bros Candy 3 SPD pedals on my road bike as I don't care for the regular road shoes and clips. These at least looked a little less "mountain bike".

Comments about Shimano M162 Mountain Shoes:

These shoes being more performance oriented are stiffer than my previous mountain bike shoe so I have gotten better performance out of these. I was pleasantly surprised for the performance I did not loose much in off bike comfort.

Comments about Shimano M162 Mountain Shoes:

after I mounted the cleats from my bikestore, found they fit like a well worn glove immediately. the sizing chart was accurate!
I don't think the shoe's rachet release will be easy to do when I wear gloves or have cold fingers, but I wont release the shoes till im done riding anyway, so who cares.

Comments about Shimano M162 Mountain Shoes:

I've been wearing Shimano shoes of this or related line for about 20 yrs, and I've always been happy with them. For the money they are nicely constructed, hold up well, and are comfortable. I primarily ride road bikes and have a few different shoes. I bought these as a replacement to a very old pair of the same line for occasional mountain biking and spin classes. The shoe bottom is not overly aggressive. They easy to walk in without slipping or destroying floors. I find them to be a bit heavy so may not be good choice for racing.
