Lake MXZ 303 Winter Cycling Shoes
It's no secret that Lake makes some of the best winter cycling shoes out there, and the MXZ 303 edition certainly lives up to their lofty reputation. Featuring Pittards WR100 leather, Thinsulate insulation, and Thermasol insoles, your feet will certainly appreciate being kept dry and toasty warm no matter how inclement Mother Nature gets. If you live somewhere where snow, miserable temperatures and nasty winds are the norm in the winter months, riding outdoors will remain very much a viable option when you have a pair of these shoes in your clothing arsenal.
  • Pittards water resistant 100 leather construction helps keep your feet dry and protected in the winter months
  • Outlast liner helps protect your feet from inclement weather
  • Airprene cuff is water repellent and keeps out the snow, spray, and cold air
  • Toe box uses Thinsulate to keep your toes nice and warm in even the harshest winds
  • Thermosol insole helps insulate your foot from the outsole to help keep warmth in while riding
  • BOA closure makes for easy one handed adjustments
  • Storm flap fastens with adjustable pinch clip for extra insulation and to ensure that the bad weather doesn't leak into your shoe

Comments about Lake MXZ 303 Winter Cycling Shoes:

I had the original MXZ300's that lasted 10 years, these are without a doubt the best winter shoe's on the market. If you ride in the winter, do not hesitate to get these. They are truly excellent! I have no doubt they will hold up just as well as my old set.

Warm and the most comfortable pair of biking shoes that I own. I was shocked at how well they feel and wished they made these into hiking boots.

Comments about Lake MXZ 303 Winter Cycling Shoes:

The cold weather is nearly gone here in southeastern Michigan, but numerous rides with these boots have sold me on their warmth, water-resistance and comfort. Using them on my fatbike with a platform pedal and liked that so much I decided against my clipless pedals. Sizing worked well, for me, by ordering one size larger. I like the Boa system and expect to get many seasons from these boots.

Comments about Lake MXZ 303 Winter Cycling Shoes:

Was worried about sizing since consensus was they run small. I ordered the same size as my shimano shoes and fit was just about the same. I think Shimano may run a little on the large size. Have used these on night rides in the teens and have been relatively comfortable in them, 1.5 hrs plus. I don't care to double up on socks only a pair of midweight merino wool socks and I am good. Because of their bulk, toe overlap and crank arm rubbing have occurred.

Comments about Lake MXZ 303 Winter Cycling Shoes:

Just got these, took them out in relatively warm winter weather (40 degrees) last weekend. Easy to put on, fit well (bought 43, normally wear 42 in road shoes). My feet were more than warm enough, looking forward to seeing how they perform when it's 20 degrees colder. The instructions for cleat attachment stated that I should use the shim with crank brother cleats, which worked fine on the bike, but the tread on the soles wasn't deep enough to keep the cleats from hitting the ground a little when off the bike and walking.

Comments about Lake MXZ 303 Winter Cycling Shoes:

This is my second pair - last year I bought a pair, size 45, my normal shoe size, and they were far too small. I sold them and bought 48's which are a little too big, but now have plenty of room to add a second pair of socks - though I've not needed that. These shoes are great, keeping my toes nice and warm and dry for hours in single digit temps. Good price to considering the competition.

Wears a size 10. A 45 fits perfectly with room for thick sock. Have done several 90 minute rides at 25F and my feet were very warm with thin socks.

Comments about Lake MXZ 303 Winter Cycling Shoes:

I wanted some winter cycling shoes as I haven't been able to find good warm booties. My performance model worked well but the zipper broke and I'm not a fan of the velcro ones. I've been out riding on the road and rails to trails at night in East PA down to 25 deg F and my feet were fine. I don't use these for mountain biking. I bought 46's and normally wear a 45. The length is fine but I think the toe box is a little narrow. They are not uncomfortable with normal socks but may be if I went with a thicker pair. The heal is a little wider. Were they worth the price I paid? I think so.

I am pleased with them but really don't have anything to compare to.

These boots were the perfect replacement for summer bike shoes and two pairs of socks that still left me with cold feet.
