Comments about Nashbar Oculus Optical Insert:

These worked out perfect with the Oculus glasses. Had a local optometrist grind the lens in house for $205 in about half an hour. $140 for the lenses and $65 for the anti glare coating. Total price still cheaper than a set of name brand prescription sunglasses and you can update your prescription anytime. They fit nice and the lenses pop right into the Oculus frame. Definitely worth it.

It isn't what you may expect

Comments about Nashbar Oculus Optical Insert:

The ocular inserts appear to be lens blanks that your optical service would grind to your prescription but they are not. The circular plastic lens pop out and to accept polycarbonate lens blanks you must buy before your optical service can grind away. Cost from discount eye service to fashion a progressive prescription with the cheapest lens material was $275. Not worth the risk given the likelihood of glare and reflection issues of this design.

Comments about Nashbar Oculus Optical Insert:

These work just fine in my Nashbar sunglasses. Because you can get the lenses ground and not need any coatings the prescription lenses for the insert were cheap. In fact with the cost of ground lenses, insert and the Nashbar glasses they are the least expensive prescription sunglasses I own. Again since the glasses themselves are so inexpensive, I bought a second pair in case something were to happen to the first pair. As an added bonus I keep the second pair loaded with a different color of the lenses as it is actually easier and quicker to change the adaptor from one frame to the other than change out the lenses in a frame.

The lower portion of the insert is visible once installed on Nashbar Oculus sunglasses. It looks like an oversized insert. Poor design.
