Comments about NiteRider Mako 100 Headlight:

I wanted a strobe that allows me to be seen during the day. This fit the bill and was cheap. I had a USB light that cost about the same, but it lost it's charge at unexpected times. I don't want to bother charging the light for every other ride. This lasts for 100 hours and it's mounted on my handlebar, so I'm not concerned with the extra weight of batteries.

Comments about NiteRider Mako 100 Headlight:

I ride 5-6 days a week and get caught a few times in dimming light. First bike like I've had. Got this to make me more visible and does great job. Really like how easy to get on / off and can therefore swap between bikes. Can take main light off and just leave bracket when day riding. Got for great price.

I BOUGHT THIS FOR A BACK-UP LIGHT TO MY NITERIDER 750 LUMEN (<2 HOURS RUN TIME). I HAVE BEEN USING THE MAKO 100 AS A PRIMARY LIGHT SOURCE. I LIVE IN DARK RURAL KENTUCKY,AND THE MAKO PROVIDES AMPLE LIGHT FOR MY 2ND &3RD SHIFT PEDAL TRIPS. AA BATTERY POWERED LIGHTS HAVE REALLY ADVANCED OVER THE PAST 5-10 YEARS. I HAVE ABOUT 6 HOURS USE ON SAME BATTERIES.

Comments about NiteRider Mako 100 Headlight:

I only use the light for illumination and safety in dusk conditions. I don't regularly cycle at night. That said, I thought the product quality appearance was below par; ugly plastic, rough surface finishes, and nothing to indicate a high degree of attention to quality control in manufacture. I added a layer of electrical tape to close an ugly seam. We'll see if it holds up under extended use.

Comments about NiteRider Mako 100 Headlight:

Good light output, enough for my bike commute to and from work. I wish the attachment would utilize screws to make it more secure. I often need to adjust the light on the handlebar as it tends to move on bumps. I do not recommend it for mountain biking or any agressive biking. As I went over a curb, the light detached itself, fell and cracked.
Still I liked it enough that I replaced the cracked one with the same model.

        LCD lights are the bomb

Comments about NiteRider Mako 100 Headlight:

This is the third LCD light I have bought from Nashbar. I gave one of my old ones away to my kid who rides in the city. I keep the other on my other bike.
I like this one because it is easy to mount and aim. You can also easily release it from the mount to use it as a flshlight. It is also easy to turn on and off. I like to say the settings are high, low and disco. The flashing setting really gets someone's attention. It is very bright on high setting and works well for street and woods use. Around here you probably are safer off-road at night, so after daylight savings time I stick to the bike paths in the evenings. LCD's use way less electricity, which means more light and longer battery life.

Comments about NiteRider Mako 100 Headlight:

I've been using this for 3 months now and I'm still on first set of good LiIon rechargeables. (Eneloop)
I try to save battery as much as possible, and am getting at least 20+ hours so far.
As the days getting shorter, I'll see how long the first set of charge is going to last.
I'd like a bit brighter headlight, as I often ride in pretty dark road when I am riding fast.
For moderate speed (12mph range), this is adequate. Once you get to 18mph range, I want a little more output.
The mount can come loose while riding and its annoying. I'd prefer mounting by a screw or hex rather than current locking band.
The head panning is very handy.

Nice bright light while it lasts - red side-lights. This thing goes through batteries fast, even in blinking mode. Started with alkalines, then switched to NiMh rechargeables because it would cost a fortune to keep this running on disposables...
