First pair of cycling shoes--happy so far!

Comments about Nashbar Pro M Mountain Shoes:

I have been a "tennis shoes and toe cages" rider my whole life, and finally got a nicer road bike this past summer. My bike riding friends encouraged me to get some good pedals and shoes, and these shoes along with some Shimano A530 SPD pedals seemed to be a good start.

I was amazed when I clipped in for the first time with my bike on a trainer, how much difference there was. It was like I could feel how much more efficient I was in applying the power of my legs to the pedals.

Suffice it to say, I have no reference experience of previous types of shoes, but these seem to be a great buy!

Comments about Nashbar Pro M Mountain Shoes:

let me start by saying that these shoes were a great fit, felt great on 50+ mile rides and overall I was completely happy with them. Until the left shoe started to fall apart, the lug outsole of the left shoe is basically falling off with under 1,000 miles on them. It looks like the bond between the shoe and the outsole was never properly formed and it is just falling apart.

Comments about Nashbar Pro M Mountain Shoes:

Comfortable on long rides - toe box not too narrow, gives the chicklets some breathing room. I wear a 9-9.5 shoe & only the 42 was available, so I took a chance & bought them. My toes barely touch the end of the toe box & are comfortable - 20+ mile single track rides do not hurt my feet in these treads.

Comments about Nashbar Pro M Mountain Shoes:

Really impressed with my perception of value here. Very solid shoe and most impressive is the fact that they are so comfortable. My old Shimano shoes felt fine when I put them on but a long ride would always result in numb toes, sore footpad, etc.. They appear to be built very solidly although I've only used for a month. Couldn't be happier. Great value.

These are great shoes and come with bith Velcro straps and a buckling system. The last of this shoe ( basically its wholenbottom sole) is identical I mean identical to my lake shoes. So you are getting a great bame brand shoe made for nashbar at a tremendous price point . Same top quality leather and stitching .

The closure technique was good, velcro and the buckle cam strap.
Shoe was good for the price.
I had to return a pair, size 46, because it was small. Size chart said 46 was a US 12 but I'm a 11.5 and my toes were rubbing. I re-ordered size 47 but have not received them yet.

Comments about Nashbar Pro M Mountain Shoes:

Had to reorder larger size thinking it would fit better and the overall fit was better with good toe spacing, but the foot bed in front was much wider and ended up pinching the top of the shoe when tightened up. When compaired to my other shoes the same size it was clearly wider. This characteristic makes this shoe less effective for good foot support and would result in loss of peddling power.
