Comments about Vittoria Rubino Pro II SE Road Tire:

Although I have only had the tires for a couple of weeks, I have noticed a great improvement in the performance of my bike over my previous tires (Panaracer Ribmo). I bought them for the better tread, but the decrease in rolling resistance has been outstanding.

Comments about Vittoria Rubino Pro II SE Road Tire:

This is the only tire I run (I have three road bikes). It's the perfect blend of durability and speed, while at the same time providing good handling especially on fast downhill cornering. I ride 4-5K anually and I use one set (1 front, 2 back to cover the entire year). I don't know of many other tires with that kind of performance.

Great tire that was easy to install on my wife's bike. TPI on delivered tire was actually 150. They ride good and provide good traction. Very happy with our upgrade to this tire.

Comments about Vittoria Rubino Pro II SE Road Tire:

My first set of Vittorias were the Rubino Pro Slicks which I tried because of their 120TPI casing and availability in 25mm width. I wanted to switch from 23 to 25mm width for extra comfort and pinch flat protection. I wasn't too concerned whether I'd get a treaded or slick tire. I quickly grew to love those tires and the switch to 25mm, and eagerly sought sales on Rubino Pros when I had the funds. My next purchase were the Pro II treaded version and this time I was so happy to find a treaded version in a 25mm width for good wet traction, also this version has an even better 150TPI casing. When the Slicks finally wore out and time came to mount the treaded PRO IIs, I was disappointed to find that unlike the Slicks measuring 25.4mm wide and being true to their designation, the treaded measuring only 23.4mm were more like mislabeled 23mm tires. I actually directed that exact question to Vittoria via email ,but haven't heard back yet, so I'm not sure what's up with that. I will say though, that if you want 23mm tires the 25mm PRO IIs would be outstanding. They are awesome tires, but 25s to 25s the Slicks offer more comfort.

Comments about Vittoria Rubino Pro II SE Road Tire:

This is a good tire. Grabs the road which is great for handling and cornering but doesn't roll as fast as some other tires. I have put way more miles on every set I have bought, probably more than I should but they hold up really well and are great on repelling road trash. In the last two years I have only had one pinch flat and tires have never shredded on anything. Pick these over Gators or Armadillos for durability and compared to those tires they roll better. Just not tires you would want to race on unless it was a tight course with a lot of turns.

Comments about Vittoria Rubino Pro II SE Road Tire:

Great affordable all around tire. I am a Clydesdale and go through lots of tires. These are my go to training tire, long tread life, stiff enough sidewall to hold my extra lbs and rarely puncture. They may not roll as free as a pure race tire but they keep me riding and for short money. I have tried many different tires and always come back to these. Buy them with confidence!

Comments about Vittoria Rubino Pro II SE Road Tire:

I bought the 700x25 for my x-fire cx bike. I ride it as a road bike through the spring and summer. I replaced nashbar duro pro 700x23 tires, which lacked significantly in durability. I am 150 lbs.

First, the two I received ARE 120 TPI. I don't know if the other reviewer had a mix-up in his order.

I've got about 500 miles on these (both front and back). They ride well, feel supple, grip well. I have had zero flats. I haven't ridden much in wet weather so can't comment on that.

I know other sites have had questions about durability on these tires, suggesting that you sacrifice durability for a slightly more supple ride. I think that how you ride and the rider's weight are a large factor. I think at my light weight, and given that I am careful to not ride over glass and obstacles (as all riders should be), these are plenty durable for me, and a good tire at a great price which = 5 stars. YMMV.

Comments about Vittoria Rubino Pro II SE Road Tire:

Put on a new set for the 2012 Miami to Key West ride. Going over the 7 Mile Bridge, I picked up a fish hook in the front tire, but kept going because it was unsafe to stop. Once over the bridge, I stopped and removed the hook. There was a small chunk of tread missing but the hook did not penetrate. Then I just kept on riding in paradise. Planning on doing the ride again, so I need another set.

              TPI = 33

Comments about Vittoria Rubino Pro II SE Road Tire:

The TPI is 33... Bought them and returned them. In Nashbar speak... SE = Nashbar special edition. A product that was co-developed with Vittoria to achieve a price point. I'm sure they are fine... Just wanted a higher TPI.
