I use the shorts of 10 mile commuting and weekend 30-50 mile rides. Padding feels good and the shorts are comfortable.

      Comments about Sugoi Contender Shorts:

I have four pairs of shorts, all from different manufacturers, and unfortunately, the Sugoi Contender is the least comfortable. The chamois is noticeably thinner than the chamois on the others. I notice the difference after about 40 minutes of riding. To be fair, I purchased two of the others at local bike shops and they cost twice as much as the Sugoi.

Outside of the chamois the fit and comfort is fine. They are also quite durable and still look good after a few months, many miles and many washes. I'm also going to try using them as a "foundation" under jeans for winter riding, they might be well-suited for that.

        Comments about Sugoi Contender Shorts:

I like them. Good value for the price. They relax a little after washing. As I posted they feel a little tight. In the pairs that I have washed, the stiffness in the padding was reduced. The first time I used them I had a little chafing, but it's fine now. I ride about an hour a day to burn off some calories. During the school year I ride to and from work. I bought them to replace some old shorts that were starting to get thin and reveal too much. Love your sales!

          Comments about Sugoi Contender Shorts:

I wish to amend my previous review, since I bought these, they have become my go to biking shorts over more expensive ones. Its hard to believe how much more comfortable these are then my previous shorts. I really do love these despite the negatives I pointed out on my previous review. Sugoi has defintly landed themselves a loyal customer with these.

                Comments about Sugoi Contender Shorts:

At first glance, I was concerned that the chamois was awfully thin compared to other shorts I own, but I was really pleasently surprised that despite this, they were more comofrtable on my normal 20 miles ride. I do see what others have said about it being too wide though in the pelvic area, and how that could cause chaffing issues on long rides... definatly invest in some chamois butter to use with these.

Downside though is they seem to run small. I got the XL, same size I wear in other shorts.. these fit in the waist, but they really felt overly tight in the legs and other areas... not bad enough to make me return them, but it will take a little getting used too. Inseam is kinda short too, the spec's claim 11', but they are defintly shorter then Im used too.

I would recomend to someone on a budget, but If you can afford it, try something else.

                    Comments about Sugoi Contender Shorts:

The shorts are light and the padding is adequate but the edge of the padding is uncomfortable. The seam at the edge of the padding is hard and I noticed it as soon as I got in the saddle. I've only ridden in these a couple times so the seam may soften over time but I could tell exactly where it was the entire time I was riding. I have other shorts by Nashbar and Canari and prefer both over these. They will probably be dedicated to short rides, I'm afraid at 20+ miles these would be problematic, at least at this point.

                    Comments about Sugoi Contender Shorts:

I have some Sugoi RPM shorts with the S.100 pad and they are the best shorts I have ever had. The description for these shorts say they have the S.100 pad as well and that's why I bought two pairs. The pad in these shorts are all black and have fewer air circulation channels then the red and white pads in the RPM shorts. These shorts are about 90% as good as the RPM shorts which makes them very good.
