Comments about Nashbar Freewheel Remover Tool:

My freewheel was so hard to get off that my freewheel tool shattered when I used it with a wrench. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the end of the Nashbar freewheel tool would directly accept my impact wrench which made my life extremely more simple.

          For FREEWHEELS NOT CASSETTES.

          By Joe the dummy

Comments about Nashbar Freewheel Remover Tool:

I'm not a smarty and bought this to remove my cassette. There is a difference between cassettes and freewheels. I'm sure you know that though. This is just for those people not smart like myself.

          better than Shimano tool

Comments about Nashbar Freewheel Remover Tool:

I'm a bike mechanic and I like to build up odd-ball utility bikes out of older parts.
I have a motorized commuter bike with a Staton-Inc. motor kit and 8 speed freewheel. I got this longer-than-normal tool just for this application, which is pretty rare. Not too many 8 spd. freewheels out there.

          Better than the Park Tool

            • Road Biking

Comments about Nashbar Freewheel Remover Tool:

This tool works better than any of the comparable Park tools because it has deeper lans and grooves which allows it to pull a lot of the freewheels that the Park tool cannot reach. Works on both Shimano and SunRace 6, 7, and 8-speed freewheels. The best way to use this took is either in a vice (then turn the rim) or use the longest breaker bar ratchet tool you can find in [...](over 24 inches long will give the best results) along with the proper socket size (13/16"). Using a large adjustable wrench will give you sloppy results and you could strip the tool over time because the initial force required to 'break' a freewheel from its threads can only be generated in a fixed vice or with a long breaker bar and socket.

i've used this for the past three years. granted, it's in my own hobby shop, so it has seen at least a dozen freewheels, but it still holds in dem teeth! a good value :)
