Comments about Cateye V2C Wireless Cycle Computer:

Although the screen display figures are somewhat small and difficult to distinguish, it is an excellent system to use when training indoors and it it is not necessary to pay attention to anything else. I liked it so well I bought a second for the mountain bike when training indoors. The cadence feature eliminates the guesswork to determine the level of your work output which is everything when training indoors. Unlike front mount, you also have the benefit of speed and distance as well. Important categories when comparing road effort to indoor workout.

Comments about Cateye V2C Wireless Cycle Computer:

Nice computer - absolutely nothing wrong with it, but as others have hinted, it is rather small. Sofor older people it can be a bit hard to read out in the sunlight without reading glasses. I have no trouble reading the speed and cadence, but elapsed time is tiny; and to make any changes on the road - forget it. However, I bought this just for speed and cadence, and more so for cadence, so it does what I need. Seems to be durable, but I have had a few occasions where the sensor unit tipped into the spokes when rough surfaces were encountered, and I've tried to get the zip ties as tight as possible. I think a wrap of duct tape or rubber over the chain stay may help keep it in place. Overall -- good product.

Cateye V2C Good Buy for the Price

Comments about Cateye V2C Wireless Cycle Computer:

Purchased the last new bike I'll ever buy last year (I'll be 70 this Dec)and thought I'd enhanced my training rides by replacing my old Cateye computer with one that would give me cadence. Set-up was fairly straightforward and only takes a few minutes. Putting in wheel size, setting clock, the ODD, and other functions were also simple (I do like having a real, hard copy operators manual with print large enough to read without a magnifying glass)and it comes with a good one. Gives you most of the standard data; speed (current, max and average), cadence (current, max and average)trip distance and elapsed time. If you use the lap function, it will also give you the same data for each lap. I use odd lap numbers for level sections and even lap numbers for climbs then I can see how long the climbs actually were and how much time it took me to do them. It also stores both trip and lap data so you don't lose the data if you forget to put it in your log book. I'm Old School and keep a notebook log so not being able to upload to a computer doesn't bother me (my phone won't even take pictures) like I said I'm Old School. There are sound functions but I was a helicopter pilot in the Army for several years so unless it has the volume of a bullhorn, I couldn't hear it anyway so I can't comment on those. All-in-all a good unit if you don't have to have the very latest, high-tec gizmo on the market. Only had it a few weeks so I can't comment on durability. Haven't had it in the pool so I'm not sure if it's waterproof. Did get caught several miles from the house in a good rain and that didn't effect it in any way. Don't think I've ever given an item 5 stars on a review so don't let the 4 star rating fool you, it's a good unit...

I use this for a real time display of speed/cadence as a backup to my smartphone app. I find the buttons too small for my fat fingers which makes initial setup a pain. Once that task was complete it has operated without a hiccup.
