Comments about Nashbar Ragster II Cycling Sandals:

I wear these things in hot and cold. Loosen the straps and put on a couple pair of thick socks (bread sacks between them is you want). they will give you a little extra float and help prevent the hot foot. I have a pair that has been worn almost daily for over a dozen years.

Comments about Nashbar Ragster II Cycling Sandals:

Full coverage bike shoes and socks get too warm in the summer. My wife got a pair of these last year and loves them so I decided to try them too. I'm not sure I like the prickly points covering the already bubbled inner shoe bed, but my wife insists I'll get used to them. I love the aerations and ease of adjustment. Fit is perfect.

Comments about Nashbar Ragster II Cycling Sandals:

The sandals fit perfectly. They also virtually eliminated the long distance riding numbness I get in my regular cycling shoes. The only thing I'm not 100% sold on is the pattern on the sole. It has little hard mobs that, at first, can be borderline painful. My foot quickly adapts to them, though, and I actually credit them with helping to prevent the numbness I was feeling with my regular shoes. Still, it would be nice if they weren't quote so rigid.

Would I buy them again? In the absence of a similar cost choice, yes.

Would I recommend them? So long as the reader is aware the sole may be an acquired taste, yes.

these are very comfortable for me. I wear a 9 med width and the 40 is fine. I like the fact that they are sturdy and have a little weight. I usually wear a pair of socks .lowcut, light weight and wicking .

Cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, can't explain that last one. When I start to perspire I don't slide on the soles. To those reviewers that the soles are to rough, if your feet are that tender should you be wearing sandals?

Comments about Nashbar Ragster II Cycling Sandals:

I bought these for the hot summer days in California and have already used them a lot. The sandals are made well and comfortable, totally meeting my needs and expectations. I have mountain bike pedals on all three of my bicycles and find the sandals work well even while riding hard and aggressive on my road bike. An unexpected benefit is how well the sandals do walking. I can't feel or hear the clips while walking and they are easy to clip into the pedals.
One other thing. When I ordered them they were too large. My other shoes are a 46 and my choice for these was 46/47 or 44/45. I returned the 46/47 and within two week received the 44/45 size that fit just right. There was no extra cost to me for the exchange.

Comments about Nashbar Ragster II Cycling Sandals:

I'd give these 5 stars for functionality and comfort on the bike, but 3 stars for functionality and comfort off the bike, thus an overall 4. On the bike, they're great. I ride 2-3 laps on a 10 mile city bike path 3-4 times a week and I use them on short trips around town for shopping, etc. I especially appreciate them in hot weather. I don't wear socks with them and they keep my feet cool. The negatives I have are off the bike. When standing with my full weight on them, they are very uncomfortable. Feels like a million little pins sticking in my feet. Not a problem on the bike because you're not putting your full weight on your feet. I can wear them to the store if I'm going to just run in and grab a couple things, but I wouldn't plan on riding somewhere then walking around for a couple hours on these things.
