Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers
Have you ever been envious of a rider's silky smooth cadence? We'd wager big bucks it came from riding rollers. And with the Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers you'll have the perfect means to sharpen fitness, improve bike handling skills, as well as eliminate any roughness from your pedal stroke. The 85mm diameter CNC-machined aluminum drums are a good compromise between generating enough resistance to build strength while still being providing the option to jack the RPMs up to stratospheric levels if so desired. Sealed cartridge bearings ensure super smooth operation while still being quiet enough to enjoy your favorite tunes or videos without cranking the volume. Riding rollers is a perfect way to keep your mind occupied and engaged throughout a workout - balance and riding in a straight line are key - while the fitness and buttery pedal stroke will pay dividends when you hit the roads or trails outdoors.
  • CNC machined aluminum drums, 85mm in diameter, feature sealed cartridge bearings for quiet, smooth operation
  • 50" x 18" aluminum frame and has 9 settings to accommodate just about any wheelbase
  • Frame has 3 sets of feet equipped with non-marring plastic fittings to protect floor finishes
  • Connecting belt is constructed of polyurethane for long life
  • Fully assembled and ready to ride right out of the box!

Comments about Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers:

My 20+ year old set of rollers were just getting worn out so I purchased these and I must say they are much smoother, lighter and much quiter, as well as costing less than my old one. Though not being folding, these small diameter rollers are small enough to slide under couch after being use, and easily fit in my car to take on race days.

Comments about Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers:

I've wanted a set of rollers for a long time but the price kept me from purchasing. I'm still in the learning curve phase but am very happy with the quality of the product. Time will tell regarding the durability of the rollers though I have nothing to compare it to. I like the idea of the rollers over having to constantly reconnect my bike to the trainer and switching my husband's bike.

Comments about Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers:

Purchased a set of these rollers 3 years ago because I wanted to do some winter indoor training. 3 years later they are still going strong. Sure they don't fold but I just keep them leaned up against the wall in a corner. Not sure what higher price rollers are like since I've never ridden any, but can't imagine why you'd want to pay more. Downside is lack of adjustable resistance. You just have to use your gearing and cadence to make it a workout and getting out of the saddle takes some talent! Looking at buying a fluid or mag trainer to complement the rollers. Nice thing about the rollers is all you do is set them on the floor, put the bike on them a ride!

Comments about Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers:

I tried rollers for the first time using these Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers and I must tell you I have not had more fun in a very long time.
I am in my late 50's, love biking and try to get out as often as possible during the Michigan winter months however, I just ride outside near enough during the winter.
On the rollers, I started pretty good only a few mishaps - nothing dramatic and got seriously rolling within ~20 minutes. Funny part came when I started to try these for my fourth time. I relocated the rollers per my wife's request to another room. I started to roll off the darn rollers right, left, and could not go for more than 2 minutes without having to rely on the chair backs to each side of me. I chalked it up to just a bad day and being tired. The following day, same result. Hmmm getting frustrated... from riding 30 and 45 minutes to not being able to maintain a 2 to 3 minute ride without having to "hold on".
I took the bike out to the garage to put air in the tire because the rear tire looked flat duh… (Of course sitting on top of a single roller, any tire would appear flat)! Bringing the bike back in and on the rollers it hit me I had the set up backwards. < < < TIP>>> Always place your rear wheel on the double roller and not on the single roller. LOL (I was going nuts and thought I lost it!)
A couple of things I did notice if the floor is not flat, you may have to shim one or two of the feet to prevent wobble. Using the Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers has been a blast to use and most definitely improves balance on the bike; I still struggle to get my water bottle out of my cage on the bike while spinning on these rollers (all in good time).
Using these rollers are an excellent way to stay focused & sharp on the bike. I have a nice trainer and a stationary bike that I will use as well however; these rollers are a great alternative.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a work out and wants to improve their riding.

Comments about Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers:

These are really nice rollers and I expect they will last a long time. However, if you don't already know how to use rollers, then get ready for a steep learning curve. It will be worth it once I get the hang of them but they're pretty scary to use for the first few sessions.

I bought these rollers to improve my bike handling skills, and was very exciting to receive them; however, when I opened the box it was very evident that Nashbar had sent me used rollers. After going back and forth with customer service to try to rememdy the situation they stopped replying to my emails, and I ended up paying full price (minus shipping) for used rollers. This recent experience has definitely changed my opinion of Nashbar, and I am unlikely to use them again in the future.

Comments about Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers:

I was searching for a roller trainer and stumbled across this one. I never owned a trainer before and was a little intimidated by the learning curve. Most of the people recommended the parabolic one, so I bought this with a little hesitation.
Now I am glad that I made the right choice. It just took me roughly 45 minutes to get going and now there is no going back. Great product!!!
I ride almost 15 Km everyday and it gives a good workout.
The only con about this I would say is, it's not foldable.
                            Overall it's a great product.
