Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers
Have you ever been envious of a rider's silky smooth cadence? We'd wager big bucks it came from riding rollers. And with the Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers you'll have the perfect means to sharpen fitness, improve bike handling skills, as well as eliminate any roughness from your pedal stroke. The 85mm diameter CNC-machined aluminum drums are a good compromise between generating enough resistance to build strength while still being providing the option to jack the RPMs up to stratospheric levels if so desired. Sealed cartridge bearings ensure super smooth operation while still being quiet enough to enjoy your favorite tunes or videos without cranking the volume. Riding rollers is a perfect way to keep your mind occupied and engaged throughout a workout - balance and riding in a straight line are key - while the fitness and buttery pedal stroke will pay dividends when you hit the roads or trails outdoors.
  • CNC machined aluminum drums, 85mm in diameter, feature sealed cartridge bearings for quiet, smooth operation
  • 50" x 18" aluminum frame and has 9 settings to accommodate just about any wheelbase
  • Frame has 3 sets of feet equipped with non-marring plastic fittings to protect floor finishes
  • Connecting belt is constructed of polyurethane for long life
  • Fully assembled and ready to ride right out of the box!

Comments about Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers:

I bought these rollers to improve my bike handling skills, and was very exciting to receive them; however, when I opened the box it was very evident that Nashbar had sent me used rollers. After going back and forth with customer service to try to rememdy the situation they stopped replying to my emails, and I ended up paying full price (minus shipping) for used rollers. This recent experience has definitely changed my opinion of Nashbar, and I am unlikely to use them again in the future.

Comments about Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers:

I was searching for a roller trainer and stumbled across this one. I never owned a trainer before and was a little intimidated by the learning curve. Most of the people recommended the parabolic one, so I bought this with a little hesitation.
Now I am glad that I made the right choice. It just took me roughly 45 minutes to get going and now there is no going back. Great product!!!
I ride almost 15 Km everyday and it gives a good workout.
The only con about this I would say is, it's not foldable.
            Overall it's a great product.

Comments about Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers:

These replaced a set of much more expensive name-brand rollers that I wore out after years of use. These rollers are very well-made, particularly the drums. Smooth and relatively quiet. They are narrower than my previous set and so require even more vigilance to keep yourself centered (start out in a doorway!) Of note, the rollers arrived with a dent in the box and a corresponding ding in the rear drum. Small, but definitely intrusive. Customer service sent out a replacement drum immediately and told me not to bother sending the damaged one back. I love the rollers and love the service!

I got these a while ago and finally used them tonight. I'm impressed. Smooth rolling, wide enough to easily stay on board. The small size of the rollers gives enough resistance to get a real workout. They do not fold up, so just lean it against a wall. I hope they last!

Comments about Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers:

I can't imagine why you would buy another brand of rollers. Well made, machined rollers on super smooth bearings. I think these are an outstanding value and I have no desire to ever buy another brand.

I have found some tires will overheat and leave rubber bits on the rollers and other tires will not. You will have to experiment and find which ones work for you best. I am currently using some Continental Gatorskin tires with very good success.

Keep in mind it will take you a few rides to get comfortable on rollers, so be patient.

Comments about Nashbar Reduced Radius Rollers:

Good product for the money. I have had no trouble from it so far. They take a bit getting used to (as do all rollers), but worth it after 2-3 sessions.

The only downside to these rollers is that they don't fold. They can, however, be tucked under a bed and out of the way just fine. Also, they leave a silver sheen on tires. I'm not sure if it's just the newness of them or not, but as long as it doesn't affect the tires' performance then it's not really a problem.
